well my 17th birthday is comming up, and ive been driving a jeep cherokee for a year, (its crap my parents got it for 2g and it was a last minute thing) as i am leaving my private school i am saving my parents about 20g so they are whilling to spend 10g on a new car for me. we have found a few mustangs but i wanted to know how some owners feel about them.
i dont own one, but a couple of my friends have let me drive theirs for a little bit and i loved it. only thing is if you get one, get a stick cause its really a lot better. and like fry said, you cant haul a bunch of people around or anything
i dont drive them, but. i work with my uncle, and my dad, and they both are mechanics, and i've worked there since i was 6, and over the 12 years, i barely see any Ford Mustang in the shop. The only ones i've seen are the old ones that people are trying to restore, and trying to find parts for them. So, IMO, i think they are great cars, very affordable, and also very reliable. I'd say, go for it.
I had 3 different ones a 93, 01 and 91. I never had any major problems with any of them. A stick is only good if you dont live in the city otherwise its a pain
I say go for the classic mustangs. I hate the newer models, mostly because the people you see in them either are really old, or they are teenagers or guys in their like 20's who think they are better than everyone. Plus my friend has one and its faster than my Eclipse that I have actually done work on...and he is all stuck up about it because his RENTS bought him a fast car so he thinks its better. Idk, for mustangs, I will always say you have to go with the classics.
My friend has a 94 and his only complaint is that he gets killed on gas, but thats from a 16 year old who doesnt have steady income
I don't really know. I'm into imports, not domestics. Buy a Honda lol, or when you get older, finance an STi like I do, if you can afford it. If you want a car with good gas mileage though, don't get a Mustang. Or you could get a V6 but that'd be pointless, why get a Mustang if your going to get one with a small engine. lol $10k can get you a nice 02, 03 Nissan Sentra SE-r, I might want one of those in the future.
do not get a ford mustang, try to find the Shelby's because thats more than likely your best option considering the fact that they are beautiful cars.
2004 40th Edition Mustang Cons: -Traction (when roads are wet or iced, you WILL spin out of you are driving too fast or turning too fast. There are also those risks of hydroplaning.) -Space (Lots of space in the front, hardly any in the back) I have had friends to sit back there somewhat comfortably though. -Cleanliness (If you have a mustang, KEEP IT CLEAN) Dirty mustang look crap. If you are getting a V8, you'll be spending a lot on gas. I have the highest performance V6 and it does alright with gas. But overall, I love my car.
