    Hey Every1

I have been wanting to try and do this for years now...Basically i was wondering, is there ANY way that i could create a file that is password protected on my computer.

Eg, I only want ONE ACCOUNT made on this computer but want some way to stop others who log onto this account from seeing this folder, either by putting some sort of password on it or locking it or hiding it some how etc by any other means.

Is this possible? If not would a programmer possibly be able to program /edit some part of windows so that it has this feature <-- Just wondering about this one :P

    Thanks Alot :)

You can make a hidden folder. If you make the folder and then right click it, click Properties, and then check the box next to hidden the in Attributes section at the bottom of the Properties window. You won't be able to see it unless you open Windows Explorer and go to Tools->Folder Options, and then the 8th thing down is Hidden Files and Folders, and just click the bubble next to Show Hidden Files and Folders and then hit ok and navigate to where your folder is. I know this works on XP, but I'm not sure about older OS's(or Vista).

You can't currently password protect files on a computer with the standard Windows software. There are programs that you can download that will do this for you though.

    Thanks alot

And could you, if you know, please link me to such programmes?

I did it, thnx but just when i show the hidden folder is comes up like a mesh? You know when you 'cut' an object (below the fodler named 'Email' if the folder i have hidden but once i re-showed it it look like this:

When hiding the file, it asks do you want to hide the folder or the content aswell? If i do only the folder it makes the 'folder' look cut but not the inside, if i do its content aswell it makes the content and actual file 'cut' aswell although i can sill open the files - this does not affect the workings of the files inside does it? Like accesing them etc.

Is there possibly a shortcut i could create to un-hiding the files? To acces the, quickly when needed and when not need/hidden. TY, the password enable would make this abit easier though :P
