I can't stand the stuff, I think it takes away from the signature IMO. It also can make a newb look like an expert sig maker. I may get flamed and yelled at, but this is just my opinion.
Well I would not go as far as to say it can make a newb look like an expert. Just because someone can use a c4d....most can not use it to the best effect. It is not just as simple as placing it in a tag....so I would not agree with you on that at all. Plus there are a lot of tag makers who make their own.
it makes newbs who CAN MAKE THEIR OWN C4Ds look like pros it takes away from tags if people just grab others and place them in sorry if im being to critical, but the point of C4Ds is to achieve an effect for a specific tag. now if you take that effect from one tag and put it in another, of course it will look offbalance
Have you seen some of the newbs that use c4d? Not pretty at all, so I don't agree with that. C4d is cool, as long as you know how to use it in a tag instead of just putting it all over the place and setting it on lighten. :\ And if this is some kind of rant because "all default" tags aren't getting liked then thats stupid.
I used to think C4D's are just cheap and Easy effects. I was wrong. Imo my tags started to suck because my effects were mostly ---- and I couldn't come up with nice backround at all, but C4D resurrected my PS inspiration and work. Hail C4D!
you still need to know what your doing with the renders. Now I almost never use c4d renders with my sigs but that is just me and I dont even have any on my computer at all yet have one of biggest resources of C4D renders on GR
Well, what I meant by the newb term was my friend had just started sig making and made a decent sig with C4D. Without the C4D it would of looked stupid. I don't know, I have tried C4D, and disliked it, so I stay away from it. Sorry if I made anyone mad, I wasn't ranting or anything, just wanted to see if anyone agreed with me.
Well, it's like with that dreaded filter. Everyone used it because they thought it would make them seem cool, and their tags ---. All it did was make the filter whored and disliked. But c4d is a little different, the person has a chance to make their own, also, it's a nice finishing touch to some tags that look sorta flat/plain. But like I said before, it depends on how you use it. If you just put it in your tag just because everyone else is, then thats sorta dumb.
Absouletely hate C4D in tags, effect renders, or when people do LPs and don't put the time in. But you can't hate some C4D, Phalis etc. proper C4D Artists who actually is it for its purpose.
idk my opinion is different because i make my own c4d's....however, if it takes a c4d to make the tag look good, then by all means do it. Thats like saying "make up takes the beauty out of women, so i suggest not using it." But rest assure, women with make up look better than without(most of the time) Hopefully you get my logic?
That would be the same reason everyone is saying is that you dont just get them and ranodomly place them all over the sig. A suggestion from me would be, make a sig and use c4d's in it, then if it looks like a expert sig then you will know. Where as if you do use c4d's and it comes out not so good then you will know that c4d's can only be used when used well.
Yeah. C4D should only be used if you know how to use it. Or maybe if you're following a tut on it or something. But it's unlikely someone will use the same C4D's as the tut-maker. So I say it should be used every once in a while or so.
I dont really like using C4Ds unless completely necessary to achieve a desired effect or depth appeal.
basically right on there, C4Ds used by a newb can achieve good effects without much work but people can tell the difference between someone's lazy work and something that another put hours into
it's just the people who abuse it give it a bad name. if i made tags, i wouldnt use c4ds for the sake of using it. i think of the effect i would like to achieve, and then i find the best way to do it. if i wanted, say, caustic lighting, i might consider creating an effect c4d for it. of course, LPs are different.
