Need help - Essay writing!

Here´s my task;

The president of the US is said to be the most powerful man in the world. Try to find reasons why he is so powerful. Give examples from history where the American president has played an important part. Is it only advantages that he is so powerful?


I'll give honor and glory to the person who maybe could help me some.. And maybe a + rep too. Heh..

He's one of the few leaders of a country, that has control over the army and over the approval of laws and all. Most other countires (like belgium) have a parliament for that.
Also, fact is that America is a huge nation...

These things on why he is so powerful are really easy to find, if you just look around a bit on the net

President of the United States of America is the head of state and head of government of the United States. The role of the Executive Branch, of which the President is the head, is to enforce the national laws as stated in the Constitution. The man with control over the nuclear trigger, the head of a ten-trillion dollar nation, is indeed the most powerful man in the world.

 

He has power over everything in America. That includes a large range of attributes, from the military forces to the national budget. America is an absolutely huge place, and basically, he owns it. All of it. If that's not power, then I don't know what is.

The presdident can basically start a nuculear war between the world. His country is the HQ for The World bank, the United Nations, and many non profit humanitary orginizations. Also whatever he says, could, and most of the time does, influence other countries. He also started the reform of Democracy across the world.

Just a couple things:

The United States is the last remaining superpower in the world(This is a fact), and the president is the leader of this superpower. The United States has 9960 nuclear weapons, 5735 active, more than any other country.(Russia has more, but they have fewer that are active) We also have the highest GDP(gross domestic product) per capita (the most money per citizen) and the second largest number of active troops in the world. As has already been mentioned, the president heads our country, and therefore holds the majority of this power.

Some historical examples include Ronald Reagan building up our military to defeat the USSR in the Cold War and Truman dropping the A bombs on Japan in WWII.

Some disadvantages include that he could totally annihilate any country he wanted to with the use of a couple of codes that he always has with him(start a nuclear war with any country by giving a couple codes to some military commanders that are in a briefcase thats always with him) and no one would really be able to do anything about it. Also, because of the power he holds, people look up to him, but if he is a bad role model, he will influence a lot of people to do bad.
