I was just thinking that a good theme for ROTW would be "Stock Provided". Basically GR staff could pick a difficult stock to cut, and everyone could cut that one stock. I think it would be a good idea because you directly compare the products instead of just what looks best. I know this is kinda like communism where it only sounds good on paper, but I think it would be a good idea to try once or twice.

they flip a e-coin. But two exactly identical perfect cut are unlikely.

What if i waited for you to make a good cut. And then i spend a few mins improving that (your)cut. It would be unfair.

EDITED: To make it more clear.

You know how there was a topic for hiring staff a couple of days ago where you would post a reply, but no one could see it? You can use something like that.

Hmm, i'm not so convinced. I think it's good enough how it is. It's a big mod to add if it does exist, if you wanna make it good.

Plus people get multiple resource renders out of it, rather than a single one.

Personally, I think that would be too much of a hassle, there would always be a couple people saying that someone has ripped their render, just by looking at the specific curves.

Right, thats what Untitled suggested, but if the submissions were hidden like in the staff hiring thread, then that wouldn't be a problem (unless a mod cheated...but mod don't cheat. I think). I don't know much about forum coding, but I would think that you could just copy and paste the code for hidden submission into the ROTW forum and would work...but I don't know forum coding.

    Your pants eh?
however, during voting time when someone sees the renders they might accuse.

Truthfully, people looking at 8 different versions of one render would get annoying. For it to be truly judged, the staff would have to magnify 300-600% and then judge the renders that way, creating too much work.
I find the current way to be fine, it keeps it simple. Your eyes can judge the cuts, that simple. If it's fine the way it is, why improve it? That would just create more of a problem.
Not to add closing down a section just for a week's competition, just more to add onto what the staff has to do now

If you wish to make any Render of the Week suggestions, i'd personally contact Huy-N or Draven first. If they are rude(highly unlikely), you can then contact another staff member. They'll pass on the ideas to the rest of staff if they think it has merit.

Personally i don't think this would work either, the cuts made by the members could easily be ripped/edited for another members gain (not saying that they would but it is a possibility). More work for the staff members etc.

There has been some good answers made in here and also like Andrew said, if you have any ideas regarding ROTW your best bet is to pm either DraveN or Huy-N :)
