dude, Ghz != performance. It's related to it, but it does not define performance my Core 2 duo @ 1.8 Ghz with one core disabled outperforms it for example, and an athlon 64 @ 2.2Ghz generally outperforms it as well. basically CPUs are designed in different ways. Some do a lot of work with each Hz some do a lot of Hz and some go down the middle. Each design has it's pros and cons. P4s and Pentium Ds go high Ghz - low performance/Ghz. for the record, pretty much any c2d can do 3.2Ghz easy though, mine does it on an undervolt.
