Update One More Questions

Quick question is there a way to check how much RAM I am using(or something like that) in Windows XP

 

Press control + alt + delete and open task manager, Go to the performance tab and look under the Physical memnory bit.

Total is how much your system has
Available is how much you have left

Or upgrade your ram, I have 512mb in mine and windows dont like it, Get another 512mb stick if you can, They cheap as chips (pun intended) now lol

You can do that but then if you left the 512mb in that would be 1.5gb lol The more the marrier

So whats a good amount of Available Physical Memory to have? Ive got about 1.7Gigs on available... That good or not (Im also computer illiterate)

 

If you have 1gb your good and no need to worry. I have 512mb and can many things at once.

 

Depends what you want to do, Gaming i would recommend 2gb but if you only use it for designing i wouldnt waste money and go for about 1gb, Also the OS varies, Vista needs quiet a bit more then XP

Task Manager, if I end the process of some stuff to lower memory, I can get it back by restarting the cpu right?

 

Yes if its on startup, Say you have itunes running and you end it, But its on startup it will start the next time windows is rebooted

 

deleting things wont really help the situation as you need more physical memory, not page file.
