Well, looking around the auction room, almost all of the topics have the "I reserve not to sell if I don't get enough credits for it" clause. Isn't the start supposed to be the minimum credits you'll take for the item?
It would take out a bit of confusion because people who are trying to buy items for (lets just say) 200 credits, they bid on an item, and at the last minute the owner decides he isn't getting enough credits for the item, then just angering the bidder?
With that said, it would make the Auction room more authentic. In actual auctions, the highest bid receives the good, whether they like the amount their getting for it or not.

This idea has been brought forward before MANY times, to my knowledge. Unfortunately, not sure if you have noticed, but the auction room is in a somewhat "depression" in terms of participation. Not sure this idea will help that situation, it would only make it worse.
Also, I partake in the Auction room very actively, so I thought I would say this. If you put the starting bid very high, nobody will start off your auction. By lowering your starting price, you get the bids rolling in a lot faster.
The only thing positive created from implementing this idea is to make the Auction room more "authentic" - which in my view, has no meaning. Gamerenders is different from real life, it does not need to be like auctions in real life.
If the highest bid receives the goods, whether they like the amount or not, it would prevent a lot of members from selling in this section of the forum.
Furthermore, people can sell their artwork for whatever they would like. If they do not feel their bids meet their reserve, they can choose to sell a different time. I have noticed that I have gotten extremely high bids a certain time of the week than others, that is how it has always been.
FYI, use the "Search" feature the next time you bring forth a suggestion, you will be very surprised to notice that many members bring forth suggestions that other users repeatedly post.
I was nice enough to find the topic where Logically closed, as it was not approved than, and I strongly feel it will not be approved now as well. The member in the topic below brought forward many suggestions to the Auction Room. (One of the suggestions he/she brought is the one you are bringing forward right now.)

Well if you aren't going to make it genuine, why have it? (Please don't answer this, it's a rhetorical question)
Now, I understand a reserve, maybe that can be included. But if your going to start a auction and no-one bids the 1,000 credits you were hoping to get, that doesn't mean you can't settle for 650. So what if you loose 50 or 100 credits, its just pixels. As for the authenticity matter, why not implement it? It would teach the younger generation on how things work (not like they shouldn't know already)

Edit: Okay, I've reviewed the topic. I think that stating a reserve would make it more helpful on both parties. The bidder can go up if they want it, and the owner can let the public know what the lowest price is that he'll sell at

We're not interested in creating more guidelines for the Auction room at this time.

    Thanks for your suggestion though,

Stating publicly your reserve, ruins a chance at higher sales though too. All good salesmen know to keep your desired amount secret, its how economy works in any situation.
