try closing out of some extra programs using ctrl+alt+del, pause downloads, lower settings, 800x600, and a spyware check. one or two of these might help you out

Nvidia 5200. Has bad written all over it. You cant get 100fps on 1.6 with that card. Turn of vertical sync on the card and turn the setting to the lowest on all your games.

The processor is pretty bad for gaming, and that is most likely what is causing you trouble in games. However the graphics card is pretty poor too. Don't be fooled when it says 256MB of memory, what really matters is the speed of the memory. Most 128MB graphics cards will perform significantly better than your card. Having said that, there is no reason to upgrade your card if you are only playing games like battlefield.

Cleaning your PC up wil help always:P
Put every thing away you don't use or have to be used
Make sure to read the back of the game to see what your compu needs:P

Well it might be SP2 that could be causing your problems after I reformatted, I waited a few weeks before I installed SP2 just to test things like PS playing RVS and BFV and even used IE with no problems. I installed SP2 I started to have problems if I alt tab out of a game my computer will reboot, IE and Firefox will freeze up on me and other annoying
:censored: . Have you tried to play other games online besides BF42 maybe its your ISP and not your computer?
