    Real Life Friends
    - 75% are backstabbers.
    - 50% can't even take a joke.
    - Who's gonna get that freakin smokin chick? or that hella hottt guy?
    - He/She has more money than me...that spoiled brat will pay!
    - I MUST be better than him/her. At everything!

    Online Friends
    - 25% are backstabbers.
    - The internet. Its all about not giving a freaking ----.
    - And hey, you can call your friends 'ma ni66a' and not worry about getting shot.
    - OMG Mommy...he/she makes better tags than me!....Its only the internet....so it don't matter.
    - It don't matter. People don't care.

    Your opinion?
    Vote.

and of course ignore that exception of having a 'best friend'

I lend my 'online friend' about 40 dollars.
My real life friend still hasn't paid me back after 1+ years.
My online friend paid me back.
And no, we are not friends anymore.
He was just some 1 week friend.
    This was a while ago.

    Real.
Only for the fact it comes with so much more.
Interaction reality based. Though i've made brothers online.
People iswear i'll keep in contact with.
It's hard. I prefer real, yet both are good :)

I'd rather have a real life friend, more likely to have stuff in common, and associate with things.

I like real life friends, though they all seem to eventually turn into assholes...

But I love to have an online friend to chat with too, :)

Real friends and online friends are pretty much in directly different categories. In the real life, you will most likely try to set yourself to be friends with people who are attractive. You don't want people to see you with someone who is insanely unattractive. People will most likely try to avoid being seen with people who are unattractive, since people of the opposite sex would rather not endulge themselves in conversations with you.

Online friends are not in my opinion, able to be entitled a friend. You can be whoever you want online. I can say I am a 11 year old girl, or a 55 year old man, and everyone would believe me. Online, people who are desperate in real life tend to strive to make friends with people who they will never meet. That way they can have a completely different life style.

I don't understand what you mean by friends backstabbing you in real life. That is completly idiotic. If they "backstab" you then they obviously aren't your friend. True friendships last forever, and that's how I can see most of my current friends right now. We do almost everything together, and I would personally rather die than have one of them, and vice versa. There have been numerous times, when someone has taken the blame for another, that is a quality of a true friend.

Nothing beats having a real life friend. A good real life friend is irreplaceable. I have alot of online friends, and some of my best friends I've made online, however my best friends in real life are better than my best online friend.

As far as liking you as a person, they both can only do so much. Generally, a real life friend can see how you react with OTHER people you interact with in real life. Your online friend can only see how you react to them, and don't get to see how you react to other people, or in the same way.

Fortunately for me, I don't act different online then I do in real life, so I'm a weird example.

However, if you meet your online friend in real life, and you are the same, then you can call them a real friend, and then calling them an online friend is not as personal.

There are some cool people online like you said, but nothing beats a true friend in real life.

I can't believe people even vote "Online"

    It's really sad

A real friend is there for life, what's an online friend when your internet goes down?
What happens on a Friday night when you want to go out to a club or go to the cinema? You going to IM your online friend and watch a movie on youtube?

Most people online are FAKE. They act nothing in real life, like they do online. And to say 75% of friends backstab is a joke, I know for a fact that any of my friends would always be there for me if I need them, and they wouldn't let me down.

People that voted online, really should get off forums and into the real world, because they are very deluded what a friend is.

Some online friends I have non for 2+years and will most likely still know them for years to come.
We all enjoy playing CS and WoW, with some BF2 on the side. We spend most are nights on ventrilo or teamspeak.

Some of my RL Friends play WoW,CS, and BF2, but most of them tune cars and race.
I've given 1 RL Friend 50$ and don't want her to pay me back. Only gave it to her so her mom would stfu. Friends are there for you when the going gets tough.

    I'd have to say 50/50
