My friend wants to play on Xbox Live through a wireless connection. The problem is, the official wireless adapter is ridiculously priced. Is there a way to use a regular PC adapter, or is there any third-party ones for a cheaper price?
Is there a way of connecting the xbox360 to a PC on a wireless connection using an internal modem and a RJ45 cable. |xbox360| --> |PC on Wireless Connection| --> |PC downstairs with router| On the support site it says to connect the '360 directly to the router.
If you guys can't give the right info, then don't post. Any ETHERNET based wireless adapter will work with the 360. USB ones will not work because the 360 doesn't have the right drivers. If your friend goes with the ethernet adapter he will need to set it up through his PC and then move it to the Xbox. If your friend doesn't want/ can't find an ethernet based device, he could set up Windows ICS, which is essentially what you said, a connection from the PC to the 360. A list of compatible devices for Live is found here. Hope to see your friend on Xbox Live soon.
