Okay everybody. If you purchased the CD or have listened to it somehow legally, post. I'd like for this topic to not me closed because somebody brought up any illegal activity.

I just bought my copy today.. On sale, too. :)

    My opinnion/review so far:

It's a pretty good CD overall. It's not a lot like any of their old stuff, in my opinnion. But I still like it because I'm into every genre of music, basically. I think their new take on Alternative/Hard Rock is pretty cool. But very different. It's kind of wierd hearing them make a CD alone that originally has swears on it (I'm not counting Collision Course). I think it's alright, though. Some songs on it get pretty catchy with their beat and what-not. For example, their practically immediate hit "What I've Done" I believe is a great song. I like how they've mixed a lot of different thoughts on the album, as well.

    Ratings:

Vocals - 8/10 = Pretty good. Could be better, in my opinnion.

Guitars/Bass - 7.5/10 = I prefer when they had Brad doing the really heavy guitars for example back on Hybrid Theory.

Drums - 7/10 = Nothing too special. But okay.

Lyrics - 9/10 = I like how they have made some very deep (emotionally) lyrics. Then again they usually have lyrics like that, so it's not too different.

I love their new album. It is so true that it is so unbelievably different from their old stuff. The new album has deeper meaning and emotion, with less of that rap/rock bullcrap.

I must asy I really didn't mind the rap/rock stuff.. But yes, it is very different and more emotional than usuall. But it is a great album, none-the-less, in my opinnion.

Also, did any of you find my review helpful? It was my first ever review. :)

On Mike Shinoda's myspace he has said that "People were confused by the whole the rap/rock thing" so they decided to go for a new change in there music.

Okay, seeing as I listen to a lot of different music (rock, punk rock, screamo, hardcore, post-hardcore, indie, indie rock, etc) would this album be worth buying?
That is, over Favourite Worst Nightmare by Arctic Monkeys.

I was hoping for something else when I first listened the cd, I really liked their o;d style, so I'm not really happy with this album. I listened it a couple of times now and it's nice, but I prefer the old nu-metal style....

I've actually never listened to Arctic Monkeys, to be honest w/ you...

But, if you like Rock, and are an existing LP fan, I'd say it's worth a buy.... Once you listen to it all the way through (Track 1-12) 2-3 times, it'll most likely grow on you. I'd say preview it first (Listen to sound clips). Theb, if you like what you hear, consider buying it. :)

If worse comes to worst, you can probably just return it afterwards. Of course, you won't get nearly what you paid for it (usually), at least you get something back.

Either way, it's completely your call. I have never actually listened to Arctic Monkeys, so I cannot tell you which would be a better buy.

Best of luck with whatever purchase you decide on. :)

    Hahahaha Buy...

    Anyways c6x Keane,
Coming from a..very..very...strong AM fan, I suggest getting both albums.
They're both very different albums from their respective artists..
Totally new sound for Arctic Monkeys, originally I didn't like FWN but it's a grower..and I quite like it now! Same with Minutes to Midnight..it's a totally different genre of music from LP, getting mixed reviews..but it's growin on me as well..especially enjoy Bleed It Out and In Pieces on MTM.

You obviously didn't know that the music sounds more christian compared to hybrid theory. Chester tried concentrating more on the mellow look and the very different lyrical style also with this new vocal style. Their new take isn't all that great with the exception of hearing their hit single from the album being playing over the radio.
