Ok a friend of mine gave me his account name and password because he no longer plays Guild Wars and said I could use it. I downloaded the client, installed it, and it keeps showing up as the Nightfall client <_< I talked to him again today telling him that it wouldnt work and he said i needed the client for the original Guild Wars. Help?

    Go to http://www.guildwars.com.

Select Play Now, or whatever. It's on the right hand side. Download that, install it. Then, you'll have to let it update... around 50-60k files nowadays. Then just login to the account, select a character, and you'll have to download about 20-30k of the 50-60k files mentioned before.

It's a great game. It's one that I just keep going back to, and I've tried them all.

I play the PvP, and all I do is GvG and SOME Heroes Ascent... but that is boring now, to me.

You'll prolly be into the PvE, which is much less competitive, and requires much less skill, then competitive PvP.

Well I've downloaded the client a few times now and it is still the Nightfall version, which I do not have access to. The account is only for the original. Also, when I enter the username into it, it says its not a valid email address. That confuses me because the account name is not an address, its just a username

    Well im an idiot <_<

All i had to do was figure out which email he was using and use the name he gave me...

    Thanks Shneaky for your help.
