I have had Windows Vista Premium for almost 1 Month. I haven't had any technical or software or hardware problems, as far as I know. I have not installed some programs that I know will not work: -Ulead Cool 3D -Cinema 4D 10 (heard a couple of people say that these dont work) People also said that the following problems will have issues with Vista, and to me No issues what so ever, ME uses these programs almost everyday... -Photoshop CS2 or -Photoshop CS3 (Full Retail Version) Yes it works perfectly! -Microsoft Enterprise Edition 2007 ---All programs of Microsoft Office Enterprise Edition work perfectly for me! I am not sure on this but may rethink it over, once the glitches are fixed in Vista then I might BUY Ultimate after a year or two ! Also I currently running an Upgrade to Vista from Fujitsu! so yeah not the whole thing... But yes I am currently fine with Vista and Happy with what I have as of this moment! -Zainu
the only thing detering me from buying vista is the fact that they made Halo2 PC fro vista only what a load of dog crap I am not supporting them in that decision they are just using it to see how many ppl buy their shotty vista program just to play a stinking game that isn't worth buying a new OS just to play.
i have it on one computer and i hate it i just built my new one and i got xp --- with it i hate vista its anoying having to verify everything and it sucks not being able to run alot of programs
I'll probably buy Vista when I build a new PC, or whenever programs/games are not made for XP any more, whichever comes first.
i had vista for about, 5 hours. too many bugs to play what few games would work on it. i think i'm going to stick with xp for another year. we'll see what microsoft does to fix the many problems some people are having on it. i just don't feel like paying out the ass for an OS that isn't compatible with a lot of what i need to use.
tbh Vista is the worst thing for a gamer if your a gamer dont get vista trust me on this one vista eats up 500 MB of my ram <_< i get a worse framerates then i should with Vista and sooooo many of my programs dont work but it looks like its from computer to computer i mean havoc FF and CS2 work fine for me azureus dosent work for me so i switched to utorrent and that works
500mb is nothing... 4GB RAM can be had for as little as $160(technically that's how much I paid for all of mine, though I did technically win half of it) typically OEMS dedicate around 8% of a systems price to RAM. That said, every $1000 system should have atleast 2GB of midrange RAM. the reason why Vista sucks... as i said... ---- drivers.
Im with XP again as my trial ran out but vista is really good every one of my apps worked with it, and to be totally honest photoshop, office, etc worked muuuuch faster on it, it handles multi core MUCH better.. the only thing you really need to do is turn off the stupid "are you sure you want to do this little child?!?!" gah I hate that... like dude said it's the drivers that suck, but that isnt relaly microsoft's fault (apart from drivers made for THEIR stuff, like my Habu mouse ) Creative are fackin shambolic to say the least, and nvidia suck a bit too..
I actually bought it, but I'm hesitant to install it. I heard it blocks all music downloading etc,. True?
Wanna see something that can let you play it without Vista? (On XP that is.) http://www.fallingleafsystems.com/compatibility/ Call me sexy man! There's also an affliate with the site trying to also make DX10 for XP. My cousin has Vista and I even tried it myself on his computer. It really isn't better or worse than XP. Its software and applications are pretty different but it's not really smart to get Vista if you have XP. (Unless you have more than enough money to pay for it.)
