Well, Tony Blair just announced today that he was stepping down fomr the role of British Prime Minister. Alot of people have criticised him for what he has done and all his decisions but I think it all came for a good reason. He will be out in the end of June.

Going into Iraq was one of his worst decisions imo but I guess someone had to do it, guess UK do have one of the most ----- armys in the world...

Looks like theres gonna be 2 consecutive Scottish UK PM's :D

So, post your thoughts on him.

I don't want this turning into a flame thread so keep it clean.

Whats the political mood in England like ? and what are labour's chances of being re-elected with Gordon Brown as the new leader.

I presume its not just the Iraq issue that sees the party in trouble and on the nose with the public?

Gordon Brown will most likely get in.

Plus, Tony Blair is the PM of Great Britian, not England, he's Scottish - Like I said.

I've never had a problem with Blair, I do agree with the war in Iraq and, to be frank, a lot of the "problems" he's caused would have happened under any PM imo. Do I think he should step down? Actually no. Should we have a new PM? Yes, probably. Confused? What I mean is, that although a new PM would be a good thing given the current atmosphere in Britain, I don't feel there is anyone else out there currently that could BE PM.

well tony blair has increased the average wage by a alot! its gone from around £250 a week to around £600. so from that point of veiw he has made the econamy alot better.
but the NHS and the pentions are in a right mess.

i dont think gordon brown will be a good PM at all, hes tax mad and will be exacly the same as he already is because all the policeys that have been put through before have come from him so i dont see the need for him to be pm it should be voted for.

my problem with it is that some of the radio personalities of the UK were talking bad about him saying that he messed everything up because he is scottish, and followed that up by saying there are too many scotts in the world. I think that is sick and wrong never negate the fact that he tried his best and made some shotty decisions. Just because he is a scott doesn't mean he should be treated like an animal by ppl although the English have been doing that for all but damn near a millenium.

Don't know that much about him. However, I do know that his speeches suck.. he tries to be emotional, but sucks at it.

And his "final speech" was pathetic, his last words were actually : 'good luck'

    hahaha

Blair did wonders for Britain's economy, the past years were the biggest econmic growth since after WW2 (or so BBC says :P). I think he's done a great job at #10, apart from Iraq. Any other problem that was caused during his time (ie. NHS & Pensions) would've happened under any other PM imo.
