    Such wonderful, valuable input!
    </span>

<span style=\'color:black\'>p.s. does it look like I'm trying to start an argument, fight, and/or battle with the guy? Also, did it ever occur to you that the evil "red text" is just my way of saving myself time re-quoting and cutting and pasting and other ways to make it more difficult to read? I find the red text inside a quote box the most convienent way of responding to another post (what an online forum and a topic happen to revolve around). What you're trying to say is apparent, however.

I am a man of science but if you can PROVE WITHOUT A DOUBT to me that he exists then I'll start believing.

no i'm accusing you of starting a flame-war, but i've seen a flame-war that started right after the red comment in the past.

And okay, my comment wasn't very valuable. so here is my opinion once again:

Religion is both good and bad.
good, because it gives people hope and strength. It can be used as an explaination to yet unexplained things (to prevent people from loosing their mind because they can't grasp certain things). In the past churches (part of some religions) started the first hospital-like structures, so basically religion is the founder of healthcare.

bad, because a lot of wars are about rilgion these days. Religion brings a lot of hate with it (racism etc). Religion makes certain people narrow-minded when it comes to groundbreaking research, like life on other planets, habitable planets, research on our existence. Religion will also cause a lot of disagreement.

I don't believe in a god. Because i see religion (and god) as a "hide-out" when things get tough. If you need someone to talk to, but no-one is there. I don't need that, so i don't feel the urge to believe in god or follow a religion for that matter.
I can't say god is fake, because i never experienced anything that proved gods existence or non-existence. I think god is a story, because i find it hard to believe that one being made everything, it's too ------ed up for that.

Oh my lord...religion. I don't know what to say to this really. I'm still contemplating what the hell is wrong with people. Some of you guys' ideas are something I was thinking of years ago, beliefs I've already panned for proof it's a stupid idea.

You see, my religion is a Christian-agnostic. I continually question the Christian Bible, 24/7. correlating it with scientific discoveries, etc. etc. I'm not an idiot who will have one defined idea and stick with it. I remain around the filled with questions. I learn a lot more that way in both science and religion. With continual strive to learn more, I'm able to hold my ground in a debate more often than some idiot who thinks science is always right, even hypothetical theories. I always question, I always search for answers. I find my OWN distinct belief.

Some of you guys just appall me at times. I'm sometimes amazed at what goes around in your heads. How you just pan everything without understanding the religion itself, or in any shape and form, is just amazing...absolutely amazing.

The way i see religion to date is, it has caused more problems then its worth and yes, i do believe IF there is a god he will forgive me for not following. I dont believe my soul will plung into internal fire.

Religion is the main reason of war, even more then wealth, we now live in a day where extreamists and comminting suicide over beliefs o_O, to which i see no point IMO.

I percieve the bible and a book of whispers, minipulated through the generations, stories of hope because the possible reality of nothing after death is a sad and scary one. To me its like the class room game where you say somthing and by the end of the line it is somthing different or has been added on too.

I have seen too many tragedies in life to believe in miricles, people with young kids die slow and pain full through cancer, young kids die, Drug related deaths.

I not so much CHOOSE to simply not believe in him its not that simple. But for me i just cant comprehend his existance with as much as is happening in the world today.

"If God is omnipotent can he create a stone even to heavy for himself?

    Clichedox :#1: "

    Simpsons version.
Can god cook a donut so hot thar even himself cannot eat it?

    Read 90 minutes in heaven.

Anyways, Im a christian and follow my religon. I believe Jesus died for our sins and resurected and will return again. I have no hard feelings about anyone elses religion at all; I live by liberty and Im beyond thankful America has it. Every man is created equal.

    I'm Catholic.

However, although I do believe Jesus died on the cross to save me from my sins, so that I may have eternal life. I love him.

But, I have equal views about science and religion. Unlike most Catholics, I do believe there was evolution. However, I also believe God guided this evolution, so that we could reach our present state today.

    Just my two cents.

I'm Catholic. I believe pretty much what the Bible says. I don't think that science is needed to solve all problems anyway, so I don't really care when people say that "God can't exist because of science, blah blah blah..."

    Another religion topic? Wow...

its ok to believe what you want, but when you say "there is no proof against god, so therefore it is possible" that is nonsense, because its like saying that the given example flying trees are possible.

Exaclty my point. Having an invisible man up in the clouds able to hear everything you do, think, and see, does that not contradict the laws of nature? If you know anything about light/sound then you can realize that they are practically destroyed after some time. For example, light from the sun, after it hits something such as a tree or a rock, no light goes through it. So, how can someone see everything and hear everything? Sound waves are just like light waves, they are destroyed after a certain distance. That's why we don't hear all of the explosions on the sun. So how can I assume that he can hear everything, see everything, all that I do? (Thetorical question, not flaming)

So far out sciences does neither prove or disprove a holy existence.

Who says I believe in evolution?

    That's basic 3rd grade science.

3rd grade science again, common knowledge

I'll give you a question. Are you aware of the new super nova that was found? It is told to have started tens of thousands of years ago. That directly contradicts the five thousand year old theory as told in the christian bible. I'm sure those 2 numbers don't match.

that If you abide by the rule that "things are possible if there is no proof against them", then all christians who have said this, are actually agnostic. Because there is also no proof FOR god.

I never said that god does not exist because of blah blah blah. I stated that I do not believe in him because there is no single fact that should make me believe in someone so powerful as him.

Well, so what? Just because a book has been around for some time doesn't make it holy. That depends on how you look at it. I could write a book, say that I got some sort of divine r------ation, and call it holy and get quite a few idiots to follow me. See the "Man Claims to be Jesus in Orlando" thread.

If you base your entire beleif on a single book then I feel sorry for you.

I feel sorry for you if you're that close minded as to see your own words against religion as true when you're spouting off some very non-true things about those religions. For example, Christianity bases its entire faith on one person--the Bible wasn't around when Jesus had his followers.[/quote]

False. The Bible was called the Torah back then and WAS around during the time of Jesus.

The bible is the word passed down from "God" where people received the word from a burning bush (lol) and on a mountain all alone (lol).

In my eyes, believing in something that has no practical evidence to support it, is idiotic. It's like believing in vampires, there's nothing that disproves it! How about telekinesis? Nothing disproves that.

I'm christian but I don't follow my religion at all. I have NEVER been to church in my entire life and I do not believe in god. If god were real, then why would he be able to create people and how would he have gotten there?
