For those of you to lazy to check out some other sites im posting the first two rounds of the draft. Whats your opinions on the draft day? Mine are as followed

Raiders did outstanding, they filled up all the major needs and concerns. They got what could be a franchise QB, and in my pick the diamond in the ruff with Michael Bush. They picked up a lineman in the fourth round and and got what was projected a first round pick before the combine in Quentin Moses. **Raiders traded their Fourth round pick to the lions for WR Mike Williams and QB Josh McCown** **Raiders traded WR Randy Moss to New England for fourth round pick**
With the additions to their offense and new system raiders can possibly compete for wild card. But must face extremely tough AFC West.

Detroit shocked some people by picking up a WR in the first round again. But this is said to be the WR of the decade, size, speed, agility, and hands. He definately will help the lions, but not sure if he's what they really need to turn the team around. They also picked up Drew Stanton in the second round, some view him and a future star and alot of potential. They did add some defensive personel with Ikaika Alma-Francis however most scouts didnt see a problem with the lions current defensive ends, the addition of safety Gerald Alexander however can be a quick plus. He was very solid in college and could possibly start later this year.We should see the lions do better this year, but dont expect any playoff changes. **Lions also traded the Raiders WR Mike Williams and QB Josh McCown for the raiders fourth round pick**

Cleveland Browns possibly had the best draft. Most all scouts had the browns picking up Brady Quinn at the number 3 overall postition however they shocked teams across the board by picking up the top rated OT Joe Thomas. 3 Year starter from wisconsin Thomas is thought to be able to come in and make a plus change for the Browns young team. Browns also were able to trade late in the draft trading away there Round 2 Pick 3 and Round 1(2008) to dallas and still pick up QB Brady Quinn. Quinn who was thought to compete for the Number one overall selection and also known as the golden child of quarterbacks fell extremely late in the draft. Not known for his size or arm strength quinn is said to be NFL ready and has good vision and decent accuracy. The browns also filled in the needs with two CB's and two DE's this year. **Traded 2nd Rnd Pick #3 and 1st Rnd pick(2008) to Dallas Cowboys for Rnd 1 pick #22**
Expect for them to compete for playoff run in 09'

Tampa Bay was fairly quite this year in the draft. They picked up the top rated Defensive End in Gaines Adams with the number four pick of the draft. Adams who has good speed and great strenth is said to line up opposite Simeon Rice. Adams is going to be one of the younger players on the defensive unit but has plenty of great players to look up to and learn from. In the second round the Bucs picked up G Aaron Sears. Looking to help out a much troubled O-line. They also picked up RB Kenneth Darby, young talent should be able to backup Caddilac Williams.
With all the additions they are playoff contenders

Arizona Cardinals spent the picks in the key areas. They finally got some protection for 2nd Year QB Matt Lienhart with the addition of Levi Brown. They also lucked up and was able to pick up what was projected as a top 10 pick this year in DT Alan Branch. Who should be able to come off the bench and provide a good run stop/pass rush ability. Also picked up a personal favorite underdog in WR Steve Breaston. **Traded rnd 2 pick 6 rnd 4 pick 6 for rnd 2 pick 1**
Arizona has the team finally to contend for NFC West title

Washington Redskins had some serious issues last year going from playoff contender to bottle team in NFC East. With only having one choice they filled the hole left by Adam Archuleta the skins picked up hard hitting Laron Landry. Good speed landry should be able to keep WR from getting the deep threats and good open field tackles.
    Dont expect much this year.

Minnesota Vikings took some chances and picked up a RB Adrian Peterson showing they have faith in QB Travarius Jackson. They did spend more picks on their offense hoping that they can use the new weapons to get back into contention. They also picked up highly rated WR Sidney Rice.
Depending on the performance of T Jackson watch out for the vikings to contend again in a fairly weak NFC North

Miami Dolphins were the shocker of the draft when they passed up on Brady Quinn and selected Ohio St WR Ted Ginn Jr. Who was thought of as a late first round choice. They didnt however say their counting on Cleo Lemon to lead their team, they chose QB John Beck in the 2nd round.
-Dolphins cant try to contend however they have much to overcome.

Houstan Texans have been busy in the offseason and were busy in the draft. After trading there 1 and 2nd round pick for Matt Schaub and ATL's 1st pick people were expecting the texans to possibly pick up a RB or more help for their offense. However the shocked the experts again by drafting 19 yr old DT Omobi Okoye. The young star is said to have alot of potential but many scouts thought this may be as wise as passing up on Reggie Bush. They did spend two picks on the o-line and 2 more on Defensive backs.

San Francisco 49ers addressed some key issues for their defense. Picking up the drafts highly regarded LB Patrick WIllis, who hopefully will help the run defense. Good tackler and was the leader of his collegiate team. They also helped out Alex Smith by drafting OT Joe Staley who's only problem is his size. With work they should be competing with Seattle. Also drafting a trio of DE's, a CB and a WR.

Buffalo Bills picked up the RB im drooling about. Marshawn Lynch out of CAL. With the trade of Willis Mcgahee they had to do something. They also added another lb to the core defense with what was thought to be a first rounder LB Paul Posluszny. Along with what i considered the 3rd best QB available Trent Edwards. Expect good things in years to come.

St Louis Rams made some changes, they have been so sketchy the few seasons its hard to tell where they stand. They adressed the defensive needs by picking DE Adam Carriker to fill in for Wistrom. Also picking a FB Brian Leanard to help with blocking and receiving.

New York Jets didnt have many picks but they made them count. They filled the huge gap at DB by picking up quick, and hard hitting CB Darrelle Revis. He has the talent to make an impact out of the gates. They also beefed up their inside core by drafting Miching LB David Harris. Who's especially good at stopping runs.

Pittsburgh Steelers did what they do best. Picking up defensive units to already beef up a superior defense. With the departure of Joey Porter they had some issues they needed to work out, they may have filled that with Lawrence Timmons. Who may not be as strong as porter but Timmons has great speed and quickness to help him get to the corners and pass rush. Also picking up DE Lamarr Woodley who is very quick and able to get rid of blockers, lets see if it translates to the NFL.

Greenbay Packers didnt get the man they hoped for although i was expecting them to focus on the offense more than the Defense, they drafted DT Justin Harrell who is known for his speed and strength able to shed blocks and get to the QB. They did however pick a RB in the second round with Brandon Jackson.

Denver Broncos did what they felt neccissary*sp* they thought they were to slow and weak on the outside last year so with their two picks they chose DE's Jarvis Moss and Tim Crowder both known for speed and pass rush ability.

Cincinnati Bengals had one problem with their defense last year they kept getting burnt. The cb's on the squad have known to be injury prone and are not getting any younger, so with the first round choice they picked up CB out of michigan Leon Hall. Hall was thought to be the top CB in the draft and is expected to make big plays in the NFL without much transition. They also picked up Auburn RB Kenny Irons, strong and quick should give a change of pace for rudy johnson.

Tennessee Titans have paired up Vince Young with his defensive counterpart S Michael Griffin. Some say Griffin may be small but expect him to comepte for a starting spot. They also picked up another RB with Christ Henry. Not sure how smart this was since they still have their 2nd round choice last year with Lyndale White.

New York Giants addressed key issues with their defense as well. Although there was alot to adress they decided upon the CB postition drafting AAron Ross out of Texas. Hard hitter but knows to wrap up his tackles and and take down the ball carrier. They also picked up another weapon for Eli Manning by drafting WR Steve Smith.

Jacksonville Jaguars have probably had the best luck with their draft choices. Picking S Reggie Nelson out of the BCS Champions Florida. Nelson is somewhat one-dimensional because he isn't big enough to line up in the box or a great run defender but he has great range. His ability to cover so much ground should make him an asset to the defense early on. They also took a chance on OLB Justin Durant who was a star at his small school but they think he can turn into a star. The jags were fairly balance througout the draft picking up a little bit of everything.

More to come later ill do the next ten teams--

cleveland OWNED this years draft... not only did they beef up there O-line (with the best LT since J.Ogden went to the ravens) but they also got the franchise QB that they needed so desperately!

if there was a flop in this draft it would have to be the redskins. im calling it now, they will have the first pick in next years draft (for being the worst team in the NFL)
    -------------------------
The raiders really pissed me off this year. they shouldnt have taken a QB first with the best WR anyone has seen in YEARS available.... they have already said they arent gonna start J.Russell were as Calvin Johnson WILL be a starter his first game (unless he gets injured in training camp) IMO they should have taken him then picked up one of the other top 4 QB's in a later round (or as it turned out they could have traded up from brady quinn who fell to 22)

My prediction for next years Superbowl
Saints vs. Patriots(granted randy moss doesnt hit any cops in boston while smoking a j lol)
