Well, here's my problem: I had a nulled IPB, didn't know it at the time, everything, even the key, looked legit. But it wasn't, and I had bots coming in to the site. So I banned all the bots, and this and they kept coming, so I took down the forums for a few weeks, re opened it today, using phpBB, and I still got them. What can I do?
How do you not know that you have a nulled IPB. If you install it, you're going to know its nulled. But if you're using phpBB and the bots are coming, they won't do anything. If they're screwing up your forum, IP ban them.
I didnt know because I didn't install When I bought it all, my friend did it for me And when I looked, every looked really legit, nothing saying 'Nulled By' or anything along those lines
i dont know about phpBB but for vB there is a mod the wont allow bots to sign up, because they have to answer a question, maybe there is a mod like that for phpBB
Thats just some bull---- alot of IPB sites, all of the sites I go to that run on IPB have Google.com, Yahoo.com bots. If thats not what you mean, no idea sorry
There are a few types of forum bots: Crawler: Google, Yahoo etc. These crawls the web looking for new content to add to there searches, this is good because then more people will find it. Spam: These usually post links and random garbage, I got alot of porno links posted on a forum I used to own. --- If there not posting then there prolly ok, If they are id post up on phpbb.com, they might be able to help.
