I do not believe my predictions to be wrong. While there may be plenty of members that just love the forum life, love posting, love helping people out, love just learning about photoshop and art from free tutorials, and don't give a crap about credits, there is an equal amount, if not more that are completely opposite. It is not just via PM that people would sell their credits, they could create dummy accounts with proxies and advertise and email address while no staff was on, saying something like, "I buy or sell credits for 1000:5USD. EMAIL ME!!!!". Word gets around, and you would be surprised at how many people don't give a crap for the rules. Getting banned isn't an issue for many people either. They just make a new account, then they could be ip banned, and many people these days know how to use proxies to their advantage.

ALL tutorial writers do not put up their work for sale either, my own tutorials are free, check my signature. I won't lie and say I have never written tutorials for money, or sold credits for money, but out of the 9 tutorials I have made, 7 of them are posted for free on GR.

While I am aware that not everyone uses their credits to buy resources, a very high percentage does, all you have to do is check the marketplace and see how many people are browsing it ALL THE TIME.

It would stint the forum, half or even a quarter of the members gone will stint a forum. Especially when some of those members are really well thought of/known.

    @ Marforce

The spork normally does the trick. ;) Yeah sorry about bringing personal issues up, but I find that many members agree with me on this. :)

Report button is actually a very useful option to have! It shows the Admins which members are helping the mods do their job, I think Llama probably considered me for the staff in the first place because of the mass amount of reports I sent. :P

Your feedback is appreciated alot by me. About the credits thing, we (or you, if you like [the staff] could put something together I think, you may just need some new ideas contributed by people *cough* me, to help you.) :D

They had one, it was removed. He's asking for it to be reinstated.

PS: Stop breaking the quotes :P

And you need to pay for school, you pay to get helped ^_^

K sure, give your won stuff for free but it wont be fair for other members to force them giving their stuff away for free.

If I like stuff I will pay for it, I don't need everything for free.

Trust me, before all this exploded, we have 30,000+ members. You said not all tutorial writers put their work up for sale. Exactly, if we got rid of the selling of others tutorials, more would be forced to make free ones.

To be honest, who really gives a f*ck about those greedy members who come to this forum to make money? They don't make GR evolve and develop, they just give it a bad reputation.

Take a peek at the rules, how many of them can be/are broken? Alot, and they are broken, but the staff are there for a reason, and I think the GR staff are one of the most helpful staff I have ever known.

We get section of our own because we are special. :D I smell jealousy. ;) It is necessary to have our own space, because we can put forward our ideas and have uber leet people with great taste *cough again* to try to improve GR and vote and shiz. Yarr...

I actually don't pay for school lol. The government forces us to go. <_<

It was removed because it reported to all Global Moderators & Adminstrators. The matter being solved within minutes generally, just led to a lot of wasted time on the staff that arrived late. You're arguement has no real merit, as you can still report in PM to any staff member of your choosing any issues at hand. The GR staff has a good idea on who reports a lot of issues, and their have been quite a few jobs to follow such things. As you said, Llamaman might have hired you for that reason - blackfuse was also hired because of his helpfulness via reporting issues.

G72 removed the retired staff forum, and I can't agree more - it should be reinstated.

I'll respond to the other matters at hand later on, when I have more time.

    Andrew

P.S. Is girls get more reputation, wouldn't you have much more Flamesy? As you claimed to be a female after being removed from staff for inactivty a long time ago? ;)

Everyoone pays for school, you pay for books etc, or you have a scolarship :(

There is enough place to forward you ideas, it is in the section were you posted this topic ;)

And if you want everything for free, maybe you are just greedy ( dunno i dont know you for rest) maybe you are just trying to get free tutorials and never post new. IM SORRY IF IT'S WORNG, I DON'T KNOW YOU !

But when everything is free, people come here to get free stuff and never come back. GR is unique for his credits that can be sold, that also why here are many great artist.

If the credits selling for RL cahs is gone, there is no change we can get very nice tags of verrryyyy gooooood designers, why should they give it out for free? they can earn lots of them. so then what it basically will become is: a forum with free bad stuff ( because there won't be many good tags for free ) and members that look, rip tutorials and leave.

I'm certainly not greedy, wanting free tutorials and resources for the good of the community in replace of priced ones isn't what I would define as 'greedy'.

Problem easily solved with the matter of people coming, taking and going. Have a certain post count required like the Premium renders.

Good designers don't need to give their stuff out for free, but why should GR be a place for them to flog thier work? Again, I was pretty certain no one intended this to turn into a marketplace.

GR is a good place to get very good things, good recources( c4d's etc) Also a place to learn alot from tags, because many great designers are here and of these people we cna buy lessons, tags etc. to learn from and make tutorials so other people can learn from them. (50 credits is basicly nothing for a great new technice..)

I also think if people don't like the credits system and think things are to expensive etc, why are still many thing sold in the marketplace?

I think we should leave it like it is now. If people feel they need to donate free stuff let them do, if people want to earn money, let them to :)

With the other matters thing, I really don't mind if you forget to reply, save your time and do something productive. It's easy to get bored of petty sarcastic comments.

Well I only claimed to be female before quitting to play an online game for a year lol. So it's kinda ovious why I'm not swimming in +reps. My name may not be the blindly obvious 'Gurly' or 'Kirbir', I don't make sigs of girly things like fairys and stars and flowers and pretty stuff, I don't say <3 and hun alot but...does that mean I can't be female? I know you don't believe me, I'll post a picture soon. :) And if that low comment was meant to offend me, you failed. I don't judge people by how many rep points they have, and I am not bothered in the slightest about having a 'low' rep. Back when I was active, the highest rep was around 150 anyways.

The reason I never admitted to being a girl in the first place was because I didn't want to be sterotyped and have hordes of males hitting on me. I got more real respect without admitting it.

Yep i remember you clearly hehe - Flamesy the firefighter :D

They were and still are cleaning the reps but it is like near impossible to track 300 odd members giving say few reps every 30mins or so - Thats just a scenario - Takes time and one hell of a task to remove as reps are given everyday - Probably have to dedicate a few members as 'Rep Removers' to keep track of all this - Would be funny

It sure has turned into a business since the forming of selling creds as cash - People just come here and start a ebay type market in here .. I remember old GR and the board was completely different than now ... even though i came late i was lucky enough to experience it ^_^ - Admins can tone down the ratio to one really low amount ie $1:1000creds or stop it totally as you said but then there was a problem with the amount of credits around the board - Staff wanted to remove credits to get the value back up hence why the board disabled credit transactions - I think they should do that again but that stops selling/buying - Everything just goes to a standstill O_O

People give paypal accounts out .. They can be easily accessed with 'easy' passwords hence the fraud that you might come across but thats the risk of the buyer/seller because they are giving their account to a board with a small majority of malicious people - Most members are just too 'greedy' and hungry for credits that they dont realise this part

    In summary:

    Amen

    Tutorials and Crews

Nice idea very long paragraph :)

More to come.. ran out of quote tags lol

    DARKSTAR

    Merged Post:

Crews = Want to be special lol Simple as that :D

hm glows do not work for firefox ... Thats another issue as well

There is usually announcements for this & apps are PMed to one of the Gmods/Admins for moderation but true forums make it easier and I have seen couple of forum mods that can achieve this - Just depends on admins decisions

lol I dont mention names but i probably have a vague idea of the person :D

To put it bluntly ... This is not a english class at school/college or university

True there is only me ... But it is not my fault that one of the mods left because there was 'too much work' and the other got promoted to gmod - I wont mind having another colleague but at the moment i am busy with my academic sides but do the odd moderations here and there when i come on GR (like everyday)

Had GRDelivery .. it just died for some reason - It was like a e-newspaper about GR

O well ... I like to appreciate you taking your time posting all that :D

I'm not going to quote quoted long posts (if you get me) So..

At Darkstar : Yay someone who agrees with me! I guess you could say you are special? :D You are the only Green one, pretty cool. :P But I seriously thought Having Mods and Admins was enough, and 1 person is not enough for a whole new title of role. You should be promoted to Moderator. :)

Well, I'll be going to sleep soon, and probably out tomorrow, so wont have much time to answer replies. Do me a favour people who support these views, stick up for me while I'm gone. I'm aware I don't have an army of friends here anymore as most of them left to play WoW .
