So could I, in the US or EU, but I'm not in the US or EU and if you've read the thread you would've known why I couldn't spend less and get better. xelink, I hope you know that PCmark mainly scores the CPU (and in later versions you can score RAM seperatly) and that that 3DMark score is the best score on that site you showed me (I'm looking at the mobile versions of each pu) but I'm not impressed by the airconditioned, over clocked desktop versions of each processor. Show me a Laptop with better scores than those m9750 scores and I'll cancel my order. Look at positions 240+ at the 3DMark03 scores, then look at the hardware thats being used to achieve those score, and if you ever want to achieve 10,000 in the PCMark scores you better get the Core 2 Extreme (Quad Core) because all I see in the top 100 are Core 2 Duos overclocked to 3.6GHz and the extremes.
then why'de you list 3d mark if it's mroe or less irrelevant? though admitedly, i did misread PCmark as 3dmark. heh, i got so used to everyone saying 3dm since noone at any of the forusm i go to uses 3dm. again decent laptop for around 1.5k(should be doable) good desktop for around 2k your money ahead and you have a good laptop and the desktop is around 3 times as powerful as a single good laptop... plus there is the DX10 factor. That laptop won't even be able to run newer games. unlike a desktop, you can't even upgrade the graphics card either since everything so so closely integrated. Unlike in the past where you could just play in a lower DX level, M$ is forcing DX10 onto the market... and it's proprietory. Also, nothing on that first page was airconditioned, not in the least and I can guarantee that.
An 8800 will cost me at least 800$ in the philippines (thats if I can actually find a store that sells it), and a "Decent" laptop will go for 1.5k dollars, do the math and its easy to realize that I will not be able to get a decent desktop to the philippines for 2k, especially not one that'll match the Alienware in performance, I get a desktop and I lose the laptop and the laptop is the one I need :/ DX10 won't be an issue mainly because there won't be that many DX10 games in the next year at least, and in the next two years they will have DirectX 9 compatability, upgradeability is also not an issue if you've heard about MXM and I think the only thing I will be upgrading is the RAM, even if I keep Vista off of it.
a single 8800GTS outperforms two 7950GTs in SLi... two slaughter. didn't know you were in the philipines though. I'd always assumed though that most of the pacific island countries had cheep parts, i heart stuff costs around 1/3rd as much in Malaysia. in USD c2d e6600 $230 p5ne-sli 130 2GB RAM 140 hardrive 80 PSU 80 two 8800GTS 640s 650 good heatsink 60 that's under 1400, I'm the crazy type who assumes that prices aren't jacked up 50% though
Well, I was surprised but electronics is a lot more expensive here than I thought, and thats if you can find up to date parts, I saw a store selling a nVidia 5, everything else is dead cheap though... can eat dinner for 4 people for around 15$. *Sigh* and yes you are the crazy type who assumes the prices aren't jacked up lol
well, tores here in the US overcharge too, you basically need to look for a good online e-tailer as that's what it comes down to. go to some Filipino computing forums and see where everyone goes.
