I'm not using a tragedy to push my "idiocy" i'm giving my opinion, can i? In a discussion there's no need to start calling me an idiot if you don't agree with me.

I know above the shooting in my country, well, it would happen allot more times if guns were legal. That there are some guns, you can't really prevent it really there will always be people who get stuff illegal, same with the drugs in the U.S.
As I said before, some people simply amaze me. Just because there is one idiot with some crazy thoughts he just buys some guns and starts shooting around with it, o i'm sorry for you all, whatever! what we do with it, up the sequirity, damn like that will really help. People should have a license before having a gun cause there are ALWAYS people who abuse your dear U.S's freedom.

And there are always people who abuse your nation's freedoms. That's irrelevant.

Using a tragedy like VT to push your agenda is just that: idiocy, ESPECIALLY this soon after the shooting.

Tell me, where do you think that guns come from over here? Dispensing machines? My weapons are legally owned. And I haven't decided to run through a building with a weapon yet.

And how do you know that security isn't going up? Besides better police forces, emergency plans being re-done, and tighter restrictions on what goes on on campus, I guess it isn't  . Just because it isn't done your way doesn't mean it isn't happening.

Very mature Ferret, -repping me for my opinion.

Where do you see me begging for people to respect my opinion? I respect your opinion, i'm only disagreeing, and i will continue to disagree, just like you do with my opinion. I haven't read your reply to my post, nor will i read it anymore. It's full of the same stuff as written before anyway.
Why do you call me a son-of-a-bitch? I never called you names of any sort. (talking about dis-respecting someones opinion...).

Please quote the stuff you accuse me of (begging for people to respect my opinion and not respecting anyone elses opinion), Oh and while your at it, also quote the sentence where i called you an idiot..

If you can't, then please shut up.

He also - repped me for what I said and I never flamed him until after he flamed me. Ferret your just a dumbass that - rep people for what they say, you gotta learn that just because other people have other views on the topic doesn't mean you can flame. Yet you still have the balls to do it and you still call people dumbass and fools. Tbh I think your view on this topic is stupid. How do you like it? want me to - rep you?

No, I -repped you because you're a hypocrite. Nothing more, nothing less. Don't like it? Kindly choke.

    But, since you asked:

this is as far as i go. I'm not interested in discussing this anymore. It's not that i don't have any arguments anymore, it's that i think it is impossible to convince the p.r.o.-gun's-people from the bad things that guns bring with them. They're just too thickheaded, and some aren't even able to see the big picture.

You resorted to implying that people are thickheaded and ignorant because why? They disagree with you? Really?

Get some restrictions, ban other things, change laws, so people can't do whatever they want. If you don't want to sacrifice some freedom for a better/safer life, because the your country isn't based on that, then please die, and do it quick, or seperate yourself from the rest of world, instead of infecting other countries. Acknowledging your own mistakes is the first step into a better world, if you can't, then you don't belong in this world.

The idiocy amazes me. That alone would deserve a -rep out of sheer ignorance.

the above might somewhat unclear and messy, but ask a question (or flame, as you usually do when someone disagrees). and i can explain myself more directly.

I can't decide if that's telling me to ------ myself or implying that people will flame you because your opinion is different from them (in essence, saying that people don't respect your opinion and should do so). I think I'll go with ©, all of the above.

No dumb------, I repped you simply because you're a dumbass. You remember the whole "look at how ghetto I can be and guns are the ----- way out and you're a coward for using one to defend yourself" deal?

Boys and girls, the point is this: "my opinion" is not an excuse for ignorance.

well i think we are both right in our own way. You're no better then me when it comes to stubbornness. Thanks for pointing those things out for me, it would make it easier for the mod to decide wheter my -rep is deserved or not.
oh, make sure to -rep everyone else on GR for being a fanatic in a discussion or when they call names. unless you agree with their opinion offcourse, because that would be inappropriate because they are on the same team.

lol, just as i expected. i guess it's his freedom to -rep someone

Note that neither Llamaman nor the guy above me haven't gotten -repped. Why? They haven't resorted to attacking my character just yet. You have over the course of the last few days, be it in the VT thread or here. The "thickheaded because you disagree with me" deal was pretty much it. Making that little bit of effort goes a long way.

    Wrong.
They were only illegal because they were in a safe-zone and because he scratched off the serials.

More guns won't solve the problems. There is no reason to have guns and even if we do their should at least be more regulations (especially in Virginia where they have hardly any). Regulations like longer waiting periods, background checks, etc.

A person should not be able to get a gun within hours time at a convenient store... They should have to apply, run thorough background checks (checking for signs of mental illness included), and there should be waiting periods in between gun purchases.

Or we could eliminate guns all together.

And about the UK comment, I would much rather be shot than stabbed, but if a person went ona a rampage by stabbing people he would not kill many people, not due to the longer time it takes to stab someone, but because it is easier to overthrow someone who has a knife, than a gun. Plus there can be makeshift weapons around the place as well.

You take it rather personal. everything i've said, is meant for the whole ----guns bunch, not only you. The reason you were the one i quoted, is because you were the one with the most extensive opinion written down, at least more then "it's our right". And what happened to my freedom of opinion? If i think people are thickheaded, then that is my opinion.

    @yosh.iteru,

Be carefull what you say, someone might disagree and find a way to punish you

If a person is that desperate and maniac enough to shoot at his college, he would just shoot the cop trough his head aswell, it's no use. What i'm trying to say, with all this trouble, people like that korean shouldn't be able to walk around with a gun without a license. I believe people are allowed to bear arms in my country if they have a license for that, and people who have a license aren't maniacs like that korean guy. It's simply preventing that this will happen again. How would you feel that schizophrenics are allowed to carry arms? Who cares! it's a free country anyway isn't it.

I personally don't think that he should have been able to legally buy the weapon in the first place (Korean national, resident alien = not a citizen = shouldn't be guaranteed the rights that are given to citizens by the Constitution). That's rediculous that he was able to do that, just as it's rediculous for illegal aliens in this nation to claim that they "deserve" benefits granted to citizens.

As for the cops, most cops are armed over here. Sadly, at VT, they were not--had they been, they would have probably stopped the situation before it escalated into 32 people. Note that not a single police officer was killed, however. I'm pretty sure that this had to do with the fact that the school was a "gun free zone," hence anybody other than federal/state/local law enforcement not being able to have firearms on campus. Of course, someone like Cho wouldn't give a damn--he had already decided to do so, and no law would stop him from breaking it. Laws are reactive (give x punishment for x crime, etc.), not proactive (able to stop crime).

With schizophrenics: a citizen, be it a schizophrenic citizen, a bipolar citizen, or a "normal" citizen is guaranteed those rights. I don't think the law should discriminate (the law agrees with me there, actually) Having said that, since quite a few of those with mental problems are under the care of (or at least under some guidance of), say, a loved one like a parent, I doubt that if that caretaker is responsible enough to allow that person to go out and buy a gun.

Also, I can't figure out if you're saying if they should own (bear) or carry (as in concealed carry license, etc.). If it's the latter, the tests would probably deny them that license anyway. Yes, they'd own one. No, they wouldn't be able to walk around with it.

You have said it all in that post, I can't really add much.
If you really want to have a gun as an excuse to defend your home from intruders and/or defend yourself, there are many other countless and harmless (atleast less harmful than a gun) alternatives other than a gun. (stunguns, tazers, batons..etc.)

And if I happen to like shooting as a hobby? Do they have target-tazering leagues? Besides the fact that a tazer (shoots darts attached to wires) isn't practical in a home (need an open space, since if the wires hit/get tangled, you have to reload the tazer, making you either dead or wounded pretty quickly--those open spaces aren't found very often in homes, at least the ones I've seen) and the fact that, at at a range of over ten feet, you can dodge them pretty easily (the darts move at around the speed of a Nerf gun). Batons and stunguns (and other like items, such as a baseball bat) require you to close with the intruder, making them effectively useless against an armed intruder.

I'll not get started into the fact that a gun ban is unconstitutional (read: illegal) in the US, seeing as explaining that (for the fifth/sixth time) gets me nowhere.

If you like shooting as a hobby there are clubs and certain types of weapons for that i think, unless you mean shooting at ppl
And theoretically if there isn't much space in your home (or any else for that matter) it should be alot easier for you to hit any intruders with the tazer, since there isnt much space they can move in and "dodge" the shot.
