Tbh, if you made a mediocre sig, I seriously wouldn't buy it. As for the second question, I would.

I'll buy things that look good, but if it's made by someone who is highly rated, I will have a higher chance of buying. ;)

Do you feel that the people who do not buy tags are ruining GR's economy?

Depends on what you mean by ruining the GR economy.

Meaning, that credits are becoming less valuable, and so on and so forth.

hmmm. how would not buying tags ruin the GR economy? credits accumulate slowly by posting, or you can buy them. alternately, you can get credits from selling tutorials.

does it matter what you spend it on? i sometimes pay for rendering to be done when i'm feeling lazy, but otherwise i don't purchase anything.

is it a bad thing to not use credits in the "tag market"?

Well, take a look at some of the highest cred holders. They have them, and do not use them. Is that not ruining the economy? Say if no one spent a dollar in the USA, would it not ruin the money supply soon enough?

I don't buy tags since they're too expensive and most people who make them use the same techniques I already know so it would be a waste of credits imo. But I don't think thats making the credits less valuable, the fact that people can get them so easily is making them less valuable.

i don't buy FR tags for myself. ever. only LR. even then generally if its labelled.

80% of a buy decision for me is based on appearance and what I can see of the techniques. 20% is who made it. a tag by you phenom or [insert --- name here] has a higher probability of showing me some unique technique that I can learn from than say a even hotter looking tag by someone at my level.

from what i've seen, the people with this '---' rating get it based on originality, not from high proficiency at whored styles (thats for us mod ppl :P), and I don't mind paying to learn something original.

i've no problem with people hoarding creds and such, but i do have a problem with people who are in this purely for the economics. i know ppl on PR who churn out 30 tags a week, sell them FR, channel the points into buying higher level tags there, get them tuted, and then sell both tag and tut here.

personally, it ought to be more about the art than the creds.
