The article on CNN said he was a loner and he wrote horrific plays which people predicted he would be a school shooter and guess he was one. I think they had the plays on there too didnt really read them but i think i saw two of them

Probably a lot was for attention, but he goes on and on. I am like Jesus, and then he praises the Columbine children as if they were martyrs. He is ridiculous and it just seems like a depressed man who didn't have enough help, and he let it all out in the worst form possible. He got his attention alright, but now he looks like a sick, twisted, maniac. Which he was... And his plays are poorly written (He was supposed to be an English major?) and were disgusting...
Pedophilia and murder, in someways it kind of reminds me of plays that I read in Spanish Class...

How many more have to die before someone in the US realizes that guns should have more restrictions on them?

I personally think this is one of the worst articles and things to come out of this shooting:

    http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/04/18/...in2699800.shtml

I can't believe there would be a group that would distort Christianity so much to actually have the belief to do such a horrible thing...I officially abhor the WestBoro Church....

How many times do I have to post this ---- before idiots like yourself shut up? Actually, let's re-phrase that: have you ever had a shooting in your own country? Really? You have? Time to shut the hell up. Actually:

    - In 2005, your nation had 1,221 deaths and/or injuries related to firearms. To my knowledge, your nation has a ban on just about everything more deadly than a sharpened pencil, with a few minor exceptions. Stopping firearms crime? Utopia (the UK)'s violent crime rate has gone up since you banned guns and, believe it or not, is higher than that of the US, according to the FBI's 2006 report. Yes, you heard me, a higher violent crime rate than a nation that allows its citizens to purchase these "evil" guns.

    - Seven months ago, there was a shooting at Dawson College in Canada. One dead, ninteen wounded. They have "acceptable" gun control standards, do they not?

    - 13 March 1996, school shooting at Dunblane, United Kingdom. 16 children dead. This lead to a total ban on -------automatic handguns like the one used by the shooter.

    - 30 March 1997, school shooting at Sanaa, Yemen. Numerous dead, weapon was banned under Yemeni law (no firearms can be owned by private citizens).

    - 21 October 2002, shooting at a university in Monash, Australia. The nation has laws similar to your own.

    Get the point?

See, at the end of the day, guns don't kill people. The guy who loads it, aims it, and pulls the trigger is the only thing making that firearm any more dangerous than a chainsaw (perfectly legal), gasoline and matches (perfectly legal), a weighted object like a brick (perfectly legal), an automobile (perfectly legal), or any number of other legal things. A safe, responsible gun owner is not the danger to society that idiots like yourself make them out to be. Let's put it another way: in theory, I could walk into my garage, gas up my chainsaw, lock myself in a room with a whole bunch of people and go to town. That'd be 20+ people dead at a school from something that is meant to cut down trees. It's all in how you use something, not what it can do. If you're advocating that guns cause crime, I do hope you advocate banning knives, screwdrivers, chainsaws, and anything else that can be used as a weapon. What about hands? People steal with them; cut them the hell off.

I watched the CNN show where his roommates were interviewed. I could have predicted he would do something like that, I have no clue why nobody else did.

Then you would be stereotyping. There is NO way to predict something like this would happen. Are you saying that Quentin Tarantino is going to go out and drop bombs all over the US just because of items he has written? There are plenty of people out there who keep to themselves, write what some might consider weird pieces of literature, and grow up to be perfectly fine.

Those ignorant so-called religious fanatics are going to be there?! I hope they plan a private funeral. If I could afford it, I'd fly myself there and kick everyone of their asses - not just for the victims - but because they are against my Jewish community as well!

Ha ha ha I find posts like this funny. It shows how much knowledge these people have and what they are lacking. You have very little street knowledge that is apparent. Since this is a free country many people from diffrent backgrounds are allowed in and can distribute guns illegally. What good are restrictions on guns going to do?There are 200 million guns that are owned in the U.S. with only 80 million legal owners. Restrictions or not if you really want a gun you can find one.

It was only a matter of time before someone posted a comment like this...
It'll allways be amerika vs the rest of the world when it comes to guns (that alone would be a reason to give it all a different approach).

    1. Offcourse other countries have school shootings. Mentally illness isn't country-related, there is allways a person who snaps, finds a way to get a gun, and do "justice"(offcourse justice in their own mind). What you are doing is comparing the school shootings to the rest of the world (and even when comparing the usa shootings to the rest of the world, the usa would still lead the charts).

1.1 Here is a list of known school-massacres in the world:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_school_massacres
    From all (127) gun-related incidents in schools;
91 are located in the USA
    4 are located in Germany
    3 in the United Kingdom
    12 in Canada
And some other countries not worth mentioning (2 or less): example: the netherlands, bosnia, russia.

    2. Comparing guns to other deadly things is like comparing running to crowling when it comes to speed. Running is more efficient in covering distances, as are guns when it comes to killing people (exactly the reason why the military people aren't running around with chainsaws or screwdrivers).
A chainsaw has limited reach (unless you throw with it, but that makes it less durable and less precise), where guns can be used in all kinds of distances.
A chainsaw makes a lot of noise, so killing someone without warning is out of the question.
When using a can of gasoline, you'll have to be close, so using it without the victim noticing you would be very tricky.
Gasoline needs to poured over the victim and chainsaws are difficult to use quickly (heavy) (same as with most things, the more it weighs, the deadlier it becomes, and the harder it gets to manouvre with it). Because everything takes more time then pulling a trigger, it would be easier for the victim to deflect the attack or run away.
So compared to guns, all other things are just not as usefull. So yes, banning guns, or at least control them, would be a good start to prevent massacres such as above. It makes it much less interesting when you have only a screwdriver to kill as much people as you can (because that is mostly the goal).

    3. You are partly right about the "guns don't kill people, people kill people" thing. It's true, if you are sane and healthy, you won't use a gun to shoot around you. But not all people are sane and healthy. And the easier it is to get a gun, the easier it is to make the choice to do a killing-spree. A choice is much easier when it doesn't take you a lot of effort.
Example, a lot of people would use a car to get from a to b, if they own one. But only a handfull of people would steal a car to get from A to B if they don't own a car.

I don't get it why the gun-rules are so important to you people. You can't even show the tiniest bit of buttocks, or it'll have "cencured" all over it. You can't swear on tv/radio without it getting "beeped" away. Yet guns are for sale everywhere..

oh, and don't start about the drugs-rules in the netherlands. It works, and that counts.

No offcourse, it won't solve things over night, but it would be a good start. It will take time before the effects are noticable, because guns are so easy to buy for allready too many years...
