Description: Is there a reason not to like this album? It's amazingly heavy, with the best part being the drums. Mario Duplantier is so good, and so technical, it's a wonder how he hits everything perfect (and live, too). It's a concept album about humanity ruining earth and the atmosphere and trying to find a suitable place to live elsewhere. If you like your music heavy, then damn you should just go out and buy this CD. Right now. Especially if you love Meshuggah.

    DESCRIPTION
On their sixth and most straightforwardly clean album, Nebraska's Bright Eyes once again integrate a revolving cast of players to the mix, including Portland tunesmith M. Ward and alt-country queen Gillian Welch. But the band remains at the helm of forever-wunderkind Conor Oberst, and the fruitful songwriter has one-upped 2005's I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning with a proficient and accessible ensemble of expansive pop orchestrations and ornate folk songs that chronicle his traverses across the American panorama. Oberst's voice quakes and wanders through South Dakota lore and Sunshine State chicanery, always the perfect vehicle for his threadbare lyrics. "Take the fruit from the tree/Break the skin with your teeth/Is it bitter or sweet/All depends on your timing," he forewarns in "Cleanse Song," a psychedelic merry-go-round of a soundtrack that joins the Scottish-tinged "Soul Singer in a Session Band" and singalong single "Four Winds" as Cassadaga's finest. The 13-song-record is certain to open more doors for a band whose recognition has soared with every release since Oberst was just 14.

What is there to say? Rage's classic hard metal music matched with Zack's famous rap like ryhming lyrics. This album takes the voice of a brilliant singer and amazing band bottles them up into a Cd then slams them straight into your face. This album features maybe the best song's in history Bulls on Parade.

    Album: Body Census

    Track Listing
    1. The Beast Sleeps Within You

    4. Ain'T That Hungry Yet
    5. You Are A Goth

    7. Hide And Seek
    8. Homo Gotikus Industrialis
    9. Body Census
    10. Adonai, My Lord
    11. The Fall

    Description
Eleven tracks of pure dark electro aggravation ranging from the melancholy title track to the pulsing club tracks "We Believe, We Believe" and "My Dear Ghoul" to the restrained beauty of "Remember One Thing" make this Wumpscut's most diverse album to date. Rhythmic bass overlaid with adhering synth hooks and Rudy Ratzinger's leering vocals create an aural infection that's difficult to cure.

    Description
This is a great album by Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda. This album features many great artists such as Takbir Bashir and Ryan Maginn a.k.a Styles Of Beyond, Black Thought of the Roots and Common. Remember The Name has some catchy lyrics and Kenji is a really good song that Shinoda thought threw well whilst writing it. A good album overall, if you are into thought out lyrics and like rap you will like this album.

    Artist: Tool
    Album: Undertow
    Track listing:
    1. "Intolerance" – 4:53
    2. "Prison Sex" – 4:56
    3. "Sober" – 5:05
    4. "Bottom" – 7:13 (Tool/Henry Rollins)
    5. "Crawl Away" – 5:29
    6. "Swamp Song" – 5:31
    7. "Undertow" – 5:21
    8. "4°" – 6:02
    9. "Flood" – 7:45
    10. "Disgustipated" – 15:47
Desciption: Yes. Just. Yes. Tool's first full-length album, which is probably blatant proof of how awesome Tool is, from beginning to end, and also proof of how horrible censorship has been. (Sure, there's a full-nude guy and a nude obese asian woman and the band members with needles on their faces and stuff, but who cares? We want the music, and the music alone is FTW) It's a hard rocking, progressive rock filled album that is great for those who wants to rock out, and just want a great album. Truly worthy of your time. Everything from vocals to bass is just fantastically placed, it's unique, it's great, and reminds me of how awesome Tool is, and how it's one of the few rock bands to rock out even to this day. We need more bands like tool, not more bands like Fall Out Boy or Linkin Park, and this album is proof. :D

    Artist: Nine Inch Nails
    Album: Year Zero
    Track listing:
    1. "HYPERPOWER!" – 1:42
    2. "The Beginning of the End" – 2:47
    3. "Survivalism" – 4:23
    4. "The Good Soldier" – 3:23
    5. "Vessel" – 4:52
    6. "Me, I'm Not" – 4:51
    7. "Capital G" – 3:50
    8. "My Violent Heart" – 4:13
    9. "The Warning" – 3:38
    10. "God Given" – 3:50
    11. "Meet Your Master" – 4:08
    12. "The Greater Good" – 4:52
    13. "The Great Destroyer" – 3:17
    14. "Another Version of the Truth" – 4:09
    15. "In This Twilight" – 3:33
    16. "Zero-Sum" – 6:14
Desciption: Remember when I said we need more bands like Tool? Well we need more bands like Nine Inch Nails, and VNV Nation too. Industrial music is great, and Trent really knows how to pull it off in Year Zero. It's conceptual genius, everything about it is great. Like Rolling Stones said, Trent runs out of disc space before he runs out of ideas. It's probably the best super mainstream album to come out so far this year. Truly a mark of genius, and hopefully it wakes a few people up to not only realize how bad the music industry has gotten and how much we need this kind of uniqueness in music, but also realize how stupid we are politically. Trent killed 2 birds with one stone here, and it is far from over, especially with a Year Zero 2 in the works. :D

    7. Backwards Marathon
    8. Medicine Wheel
    9. The Primer
    10. Autodidact
    11. Laser Speed
Description: "Oh my god," was the first thing I thought of when first listening to Alaska. I can safely say this is one of the best CDs ever made. From the very first song all the way to the end, BTBAM shows their incredible mix of genres and styles, as well as their unmatched talent. One minute you'll be banging your head and screaming at the top of your lungs, the next you'll be swaying your arms singing along with Tommy Rogers as he leaps from metalcore to jazz-influenced mellow singing within seconds. It is so hard for me to describe Alaska because it is such a unique sound that you'll have to hear to understand. So yeah... go listen to it!

    Artist:Pearl Jam
    Album: Vs.
    Track Listing:

    1. "Go" – 3:12
    2. "Animal" – 2:49
    3. "Daughter" – 3:55

    4. "Glorified G" – 3:26
    5. "Dissident" – 3:35
    6. "W.M.A." – 5:59
    7. "Blood" – 2:50
    8. "Rearviewmirror" – 4:44
    9. "Rats" – 4:15
    10. "Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town" – 3:15

    11. "Leash" – 3:09
    12. "Indifference" – 5:02

Pearl Jam's second album. The sophmore album of a band whom already had released one of the best selling albums of all time. Pearl Jam pulled out a raunchier, rougher sound than their first album, Ten with amazing results. No videos ever made for this album, Pearl Jam wanted their popularity to die down a lot. Having gotten a court case against Ticket Master to play in smaller, cheaper venues with cheaper tickets, not even wanting to release singles for the album, PJ wanted nothing more than be a normal band.

They tried, and everything but musically were they a normal band eventually. Musically they're a phenomenal band. Vs. is blatant proof of their awesomeness. You can rock out to it, you can be mellow with it. Its execution is beautifully done. It's a fine album, and if you want to listen to some actual good rock, pick up this album. Definitely.

    Artist: Screaming Trees
    Album: Dust
    Track Listing:
    1. "Halo of Ashes" – 4:04
    2. "All I Know" – 3:55 |
    3. "Look at You" – 4:42
    4. "Dying Days" – 4:51
    5. "Make My Mind" – 4:11

    6. "Sworn and Broken" – 3:34
    7. "Witness" – 3:39
    8. "Traveler" – 5:22
    9. "Dime Western" – 3:39
    10. "Gospel Plow" – 6:17

Some bands in the 90s grunge era didn't hit it big. However, they made fantastic music that has influenced many. Screaming Trees was on the verge of hitting it big, but in the midst of their climbing to popularity, they broke up. Dust is the last album they made, and their most successful, going Gold.

Screaming Trees hit a psychedelic approach, a very different approach than what most grunge bands were doing. In this album they were able to rock out, like the songs Witness, and yet calm down a bit which most of the beginning of the album consists of. It's a fine album, definitely something to pick up if you want something different in rock. :)

    Artist: Jeff Buckley
    Album: Grace
    Track Listing:

    1. "Mojo Pin" – 5:42
    2. "Grace" – 5:22
    3. "Last Goodbye" – 4:35

    4. "Lilac Wine" – 4:32
    5. "So Real" – 4:43
    6. "Hallelujah" – 6:53
    7. "Lover, You Should've Come Over" – 6:43
    8. "Corpus Christi Carol" – 2:56
    9. "Eternal Life" – 4:52
    10. "Dream Brother" – 5:26

Let me inform you of a few things. Jeff Buckley died before his time came. This is only legitimate solo album. It has went 6x platinum in Australia and despite it being released over 10 years ago it's still popping up in the charts everywhere here and there.

Jeff Buckley is an amazing artist. Musically he was still searching exactly what he wanted, but the lowest this album ever went was just to a promising kind of music. This isn't a hard rocking album, it is somewhat in the middle in tempo. Jeff Buckley will always be in the hearts of million, including me.

He's a legitimate artist. This is really music. He's performs some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard of in my LIFE. If you are into music, true form of music, not some stupid screamo, emo, and other bullcrap. Actual music. Check this album out immediately. This is an album you need to get. Definitely.

    Artist: Muse
    Album: Origin of Symmetry
    Track Listing:
    1. "New Born" – 6:01
    2. "Bliss" – 4:12
    3. "Space Dementia" – 6:20
    4. "Hyper Music" – 3:20
    5. "Plug In Baby" – 3:40
    6. "Citizen Erased" – 7:19

    7. "Micro Cuts" – 3:38
    8. "Screenager" – 4:20
    9. "Darkshines" – 4:47
    10. "Feeling Good" – 3:19
    11. "Megalomania" – 4:38

After a somewhat decent debut album, Muse headed into some riff-based songs for their second album, and managed to pull out an incredibly underrated but incredibly good album called Origin of Symmetry.

I have all of Muse's albums, but I'm more addicted to their second and third album than first and latest album. Origin of Symmetry has some incredibly fantastic bass lines, such should be noted in the song "Hyper Music" and "Darkshines", it also has some incredibly fantastic riffs such as in "Citizen Erased".

Muse did a fantastic job on this album, and if you lie progressive rock, I suggest you go ahead and check it out. :)

    Artist: Mudhoney
Album: Superfuzz Bigmuff Plus Early Singles
    Track Listing:

    1. "Touch Me I'm Sick" – 2:35
    2. "Sweet Young Thing Ain't Sweet No More" – 3:46
    3. "Hate the Police" – 2:08
    4. "Burn It Clean" – 3:00
    5. "You Got It" – 2:53
    6. "Halloween" – 6:12
    7. "No One Has" – 3:26
    8. "If I Think" – 3:37
    9. "In 'N' Out of Grace" – 5:28
    10. "Need" – 3:00
    11. "Chain That Door" – 1:51
    12. "Mudride" – 5:43

Mudhoney...the reason that the grunge era sounded like...grunge. Mudhoney is an incrediblt influential band. They took influence over sales, and do a fantastic job at what they do best: make music.

Superfuzz Bigmuff Plus Early Singles is a compilation album, made after their first album, it includes A-Sides and B-Sides of the original EP, and a few cover songs from Sonic Youth and such.

It's a fine compilation, if you love grunge and alternative rock, and would love to know some of the reasons it sounds the way it does, check this compilation out. It'll be a great way to see how rock formed into the fantastic form that is alternative rock. :D

    Third time's the charm?

    Artist: Porcupine Tree
    Album: Stupid Dream
    Track Listing:
    1. "Even Less" – 7:11
    2. "Piano Lessons" – 4:21
    3. "Stupid Dream" - 0:28
    4. "Pure Narcotic" - 5:02
    5. "Slave Called Shiver" - 4:40
    6. "Don't Hate Me" - 8:30
    7. "This Is No Rehearsal" - 3:26
    8. "Baby Dream in Cellophane" - 3:15
    9. "Stranger by the Minute" - 4:30
    10. "A Smart Kid" - 5:22
    11. "Tinto Brass" - 6:17
    12. "Stop Swimming" - 6:53

Do you like Pink Floyd? I hope you do, they're a phenomenal band. Do you wish there was a band like them around? I hope you do, because we could use more bands like that. Porcupine Tree isn't a Pink Floyd mimmick, they're influenced by them, though, and it shows in their music. The album Stupid Dream is a great way to start off listening to them. Porcupine Tree really do pleases all of the lovers of Pink Floyd that wish there was a Pink Floyd today. :) I suggest this to any Pink Floyd or progressive rock fan. The album is fantastic.

Artist: Queens of the Stone Age
    Album: Era Vulgaris
    Track Listing:
    1. "Turnin' on the Screw" – 5:20
    2. "Sick, Sick, Sick"– 3:34
    3. "I'm Designer" – 4:04

    4. "Into the Hollow" – 3:32
    5. "Misfit Love" – 5:39
    6. "Battery Acid" – 4:36
    7. "Make It Wit Chu"– 4:50
    8. "3's & 7's" – 3:34
    9. "Suture Up Your Future" – 4:37
    10. "River in the Road" – 3:19
    11. "Run, Pig, Run" – 4:48

Queens of the Stone Age might be one of the best mainstream bands to come out within the last 10 years. They're phenomenal. They encompass everything we need to get rid of crap like Linkin Park and Fall out Boy. Their latest album, Era Vulgaris, shows that. It has incredibly catchy riffs and lyrics (Sick, Sick, Sick, 3's & 7's), they have stuff that will make the radio enemies with them (Suture Up Your Future) and overall, this album is pretty much ALBUM OF THE YEAR material. Get it. Now.
