I'm not sure if this goes here or in gaming but i figured it was more of a technical issue so i put it here, mods move if supposed to be somewhere else.

When im playing gta vice city, ill be driving or whatever and stuff starts dissapearing (like bushes, sidewalks, Buildings) and the game will freeze and it says "Error Reading the Vice City DVD." sometimes it will freeze up completely and ill have to restart, but mostly it will only last about a minute. i blew out the insides thinking it was dust but its still happening. any ideas on whats going on?

Is your PS2 old? Like did you buy it when it had just came out? Like within 6 months-1 ear of it being released?

It's the disk. If it was a more serioius problem like a DRE (disk read error, no disk will load) then your looking for a new drive. (i won't go into details as you don't have a dre). Anyway, try cleaning the disk in a circlular motion. Also, try cleaning it with some toothepaste, it is a very light abrasive and should help remove some of thos scratches.
