Hard Math Problem

    BOB washes a car in 6 minutes
    STEVEN washes a car in 8,
    if they wash it together how long will it take?

    WRONG
    even if steven washes but a hubcap he MUST speed BOB up

    well in that case there is really no telling how long it will take them to finish the car because it all depends on how much they each do....if they split up the work equally into half then they would finish in seven minutes as it is the average of the two times. Correct?

    no because if it takes STEVEN 8 minutes himself the number MUST GO UP with a nother person even if he cleans just a tiiiiinnnyyy bit

    Surely it could take 4 minutes, as Steven washes half of the car in 4, while bob has already finished the other half?

    i just did it on paper with rates .
    the first guess was just an assumption
    now i say its 3.42 minutes
    rates ftw :)

    im not 100% sure , as iwas told only the question not the answer but i think love hurts is right i got about the same and im stupid
