I have a question for all designers and sig makers. I am trying to make good sigs, logo's and banners for people and myself.
My question, i am going to buy a new gfx program. The new photoshop is to expensive because designing is just a hobby for me.

Can i make great sigs, banners and stuff like that with the new COREL PAINT XI + Upgrade.

Are there members here who have experience with that program?
Please let me know. Because i want to buy it.

    Thx.

it depends. the most commonly used program for sigmaking is photoshop, but people have used other programs to great success. just because a program is the most used doesn't make it particularly better.

while i don't have any experience with that program you mentioned, i know that there's a sizable part of the GFX community that uses GIMP, an open-source and free graphics program.

I thought Jasc made Paintshop ---.. Anyways, not many people use that program so it'll be hard to find sig tutorials for it. Try either GIMP, or Photoshop CS2.

As Pepsi said, there's community's that support and greatly use Photoshop but if you search carefully you will find community's completed dedicated to GIMP, I've came across a few in my searches.

I wish you the best of luck!

It actually is illegal, lol. You're basically making it so that you're getting the program for free.

Paintshop --- is more of an image fixer, for magazines and such.

Photoshop or GIMP makes good siggies.

Honestly, imo photoshop (CS2) is THE best graphics programme out there, nothing that i have tried compares to it, there is just so many things you can do in there.
