I have a question for all designers and sig makers. I am trying to make good sigs, logo's and banners for people and myself. My question, i am going to buy a new gfx program. The new photoshop is to expensive because designing is just a hobby for me. Can i make great sigs, banners and stuff like that with the new COREL PAINT XI + Upgrade. Are there members here who have experience with that program? Please let me know. Because i want to buy it. Thx.
if your having trouble buying ps, why dont u just play around with gimp? i know its free and not as good, but its something for now i guess (or use the adobe cs3 beta! i think its free atm hahaha)
it depends. the most commonly used program for sigmaking is photoshop, but people have used other programs to great success. just because a program is the most used doesn't make it particularly better. while i don't have any experience with that program you mentioned, i know that there's a sizable part of the GFX community that uses GIMP, an open-source and free graphics program. http://www.GIMP.org
I thought Jasc made Paintshop ---.. Anyways, not many people use that program so it'll be hard to find sig tutorials for it. Try either GIMP, or Photoshop CS2.
As Pepsi said, there's community's that support and greatly use Photoshop but if you search carefully you will find community's completed dedicated to GIMP, I've came across a few in my searches. I wish you the best of luck! Insomnia~
Just download the trail version of Adobe for 30 days..When its finished uninstal, Clean regisry and install again, Its not warez or illegal cos your not doing anything illegal Other options are paint.net..Looks quiet like photoshop but isnt if you get what i mean
Paintshop --- is more of an image fixer, for magazines and such. Photoshop or GIMP makes good siggies.
Honestly, imo photoshop (CS2) is THE best graphics programme out there, nothing that i have tried compares to it, there is just so many things you can do in there.
