It doesn't say what gender you are in the profile, I'd like to see it added there.

Why does it matter? I do not support this idea, it would lead to cases of sexual harassment and sexually explicit posts.

That Sexual harrasment thing is going a bit far imho.

Other forums have it and I can't see a good reason why this shouldn't, also it's annoying when you aren't sure if it's a he or she so you don't know what to call it.

I never would've thought that this was a bad idea...

i agree with Kennedy, Other forums do have it and its quite helpful with little things like calling a person a man girl. Thats like saying that we should all be sex blind in real life, yes there are those who MIGHT act idiotic but we might as well take a chance since it seems like a neat idea. Plus its only a mod installation away, if it doesn't work then just take it away!

I think it would be better if we can say he or she, because there alot of females and alot of males who dont like being called they... and also, if you accidentaly call a she a he, it can go really badly for the two partied involved.

Call them by their username or their real name if they provide it. What does gender have to do with graphics?

It's not a new mod Serbian SouLjr, you just make a 'Custom profile field' on the profile magagment thing. Easy really, takes 1/2 minutes at the most lol

    Merged Post:

@ paper mache: It would make it easier, although the vast magority of users on GR are boys (not sayying girls on here is a bad thing, in fact i think therre should be more girls wasting their lives on here lol).

well i see a lot of females on this site put in their sig that they are a female just to keep people from calling them "man" or "dude" or something similar because people are always doing it

it won't really hurt to be able to tell the difference in the person's profile

btw...when i first joined GR i though that Logically was a male lol

Probably won't be implemented for the reasons stated in the first reply.

Even without the gender mod (or custom profile field) we have had frequent IM harrassment cases between our male AND our female members harrassing a person of the opposite sex. If you wish to know someone's sex, and their username (such as dementia, and yes, I have been mistaken for a girl, hence my relatively new profile pic) or their name (such as taylor, etc.) do not imply a female or male origin, you can always ask, and if they wish to tell you, they will.

As for making the default option anonymous, then it *could* be beneficial, but probably still will not be implemented.
