    Spatter is a filter an splatter is a kind of brush.

    <span style='font-family:Comic Sans MS'>yeah i know about the "Spatter" filter but sometimes i see the brushes called "Spatter Brushes" and "Splatter Brushes"..........does it really make a difference though?</span>

    i'm asking because i'm writing a tutorial right now and i wasn't really sure what to call the brushes

    I'd go with splatter. Its definitely the most used of the two.
