Directx Help

    I need soem help with DirectX. So here I go:

    I recently bought the game Coutner Strike: Source. The minimum requirments on it include having DirectX 7. Well my video card maxes out on DirectX 6. So here's the question:

    is there something I can do to make it so my graphics card takes DirectX 7+ for free without needing to buy a new video card?

    Um, Not really. Unless you could try tweaking it with some 3rd party software. What is your graphics card, and what is your OS?
