If you wanna come home, and relax with a game of counter strike, or supreme commander or whatever, get a PC.

If you wanna come home, and relax with picture editing, music editing, iHome, garage band, organize your music and fonts, and check ur neat looking calander, and then buy cool new gadgets for your iPod, get a Mac.

    I prefer PC.

based on what? corperate propaganda and advertising? Apple is a multibiliondollar corperation and liek others, they desire to profit at your expense and to aid in this, they have generated a fan base who purchases their products on irrational measures.

Macs are only good if you have an OSX specific application which you require.

Also, you can hack OSX onto PCs...

I prefer PCs. I've had the Mac kinda thing on here already and I didn't like it too much. Doing things with PC is easier for me, than with a Mac.
Only reason I'd get one is for the security they are supposed to have, compared to PCs.

i find it funny how in apples commercials they clearly label the PC guy as a nerdy geek and the apple guy is "cool and not geeky" when from what i have seen its actually the oppisite(but to a point all COMPUTER users are geeks lol)

you can do ANYTHING a mac can do (and more) on a PC.

    Merged Post:

security? simple get an AV, get a firewall, make sure your comp is up to date, o and dont download shady porn..... tends to be viruses lol

anyone who says virus, basically needs a watered down idiot proof OS, because they are apparentlyincapable of protecting themselves by not being stupid. Right now, i do not run any antivirus software, I do not regularly run anti adware or similr. I go the preventative route, I avoid warez and I use a script blocker on firefox and leave javascript disabled on sites I do not trust.

Security isn't an issue for me at all. I run anti-virus/spyware and firewall things, but I haven't really needed it for a while now.
The reason I'd get it for the security is because it would be less of a hassle to update everything all the time.

I share this computer with my mom and brother, so there is a potential risk of getting something I really don't want. With a Mac it would be much less.

Gaming: PC (if you want extreme hardware such as SLi etc)
Anything Else: Mac (especially with CS3 completely supportng the Intel-Macs)

Safety is no reason to choose a mac over a PC, just be respnsible when you are using the web, if you dabble in illegal exploits you will get malware.

Macs seem better and faster because they are all around the same hardware, with PC's you can get the really $****Y PC's and people complain of their slowness, but then you can the PC's that can run F.E.A.R. and PRey etc. at max settings and you can problably work on Photoshop at the same time if you could multitask like that.

I hate people who buy macs because they genrally say they are "better". Garageband, Aperture etc. are all valid reasons to buy a mac; IF YOU USE IT PROFESSIONALY.
