Day 13, I managed to bring up quitting in a discussion with my peers. I managed to get three people to quit with me. We've all pitched in cigarette money for gum money :)

chewing gum will take your mind off it for sure,
however it will not give you a "buzz" (if you get that of your cigarettes)
i would recommend the nicorette gum, but it is expensive.
anyway, some people find that chewing gum confuses their stomachs, making them feel hungry.

lol, my point is! - you have to avoid hunger.
when you're hungry, your body finds deposits of nicotine from your fat globules, and you will get a craving, try to avoid feeding this.
eat enough to avoid hunger & drink lots of water.
after the first 2 weeks it will be no problem.
some people even find it works after the first 3 days ! (3day hump)

edit// well done for attempting the stop. good luck

I think is its a good thing you're doing... it will be hard, but once you get through it , you will be glad you quit. Everyone should quit smoking! You're just victims of drugs and advertising!

I admire you for quiting I have started since sat. and its hard Im using 3 packs of orbit gum a day but then again i would smoke 2 packs a day so the gum replaces my craving but you just have to be patient and tell your friends to stop because then you can have a support system thats what I have And since im always around my friends they dont smoke around me and they are always by me so I dont light one up

don't totally ban yourself from it, that's the most important thing
and think of it this way...smoking is an option, but right now i choose to do something else
