hello, i have a ps3 which my brother sent me from hong kong and he sent some games. i read that the games are meant to be region free but the games he sent have region 3 written on them. im from england so would games bought in england work on a ps3 from hong kong? he keeps insisting they wouldnt because the ps3 is not PAL or something.
Really? Apparently, USA can play Japanese or the other way round. Japan is the same region as Hong Kong, so... By the way, PAL is the europe one.

PS3 games are region free! You can play ps3 games from anywhere on any ps3! Its only ps2/ps1 games which are region locked. PS3 IS REGION FREE! THE GAMES WILL WORK!
NTSC is the US and everything. I don't know, I play PAL games. Also, does this mean the first two repliers were either a) sarcastic, B) misinformed or c) haters of the PS3?
its okay thx for replies. its just the blu-ray films which are locked then but im sure there will be a way to by-pass this soon!
It should be region free but when you play online, some games have you play with people only in the same region as you.
