anyone have any cool apps they use to tweak, troubleshoot, or just screw around? I use: windirstat is this nifty program that shows you with a visual graph what files make up your hard drive. it is helpful if you're looking for huge files that may be taking up too much space. windirstat website Process explorer is a microsoft app that gives you a full view of your processes. it is basically a ramped up version of task manager. it gives a little more information and organizes the processes in a nice arrangement. Process Explorer website CPU-Z is a great program that allows you to see exactly what hardware you're running. it is helpful if you have a retail computer that you don't know exactly what's inside of it. it tells you everything from BIOS version to processor socket type. CPU-Z website TCPOptimizer... supposedly it speeds up your internet connection but I'm not sure it does anything hah. I use it but I can't say it helps a ton but hey it doesn't do me any harm. TCPOptimizer website didn't notice the sticky but some of these aren't there so oh well
I downloaded Process Explorer. Looks useful, but I'm not sure if you can end processes using it. BTW if windirstat is too blocky and unimaginative for you, you can get JDisk Report. The program itself is a bit prettier and It'll show you your cp's contents in Pie Charts and all that fun stuff. Link: http://www.jgoodies.com/freeware/jdiskreport/
yeah all you have to do is click the process and click the red x on the toolbar or just hit the delete key or right click the process and click kill process
