    Blackwater Park from wikipedia :

    Code:
Blackwater Park is the fifth studio album from the Swedish progressive death metal band Opeth. It was originally released on February 27, 2001 under Music For Nations and Koch Records. The album is a further continuation of the styles explored on Still Life, incorporating and further expanding on the band's signature sound, which features the merger of death metal, progressive metal and doom metal elements.

Blackwater Park was the first Opeth album to be produced by Porcupine Tree's Steven Wilson, who also provided backing vocals in some of the album's songs. The album was a critical and commercial success for the band, introducing them to a new range of fans. It is generally seen as their breakthrough work. A special edition was later issued with a second disc consisting of two bonus tracks (which were also released separately on the limited edition Still Day Beneath the Sun vinyl record single) and a music video for the song "Harvest".

A radio edit of "The Drapery Falls" was also released as a single to promote the album.

they are not prog metal, they are considered melodic death metal; Blackwater Park was a great album but i swear "My Arms, Your Hearse" was much heavy just overall mind blowing.

Opeth is metal; some of their songs are hard, some of them are abit more soft. But good, none the less.

They're softest, depressing, gothic album was "Damnation". The first part of what you were telling me i didn't quit understand. I can understand when you said they were progressive metal, but what you missed was the fact that they are progressive/melodic death metal. Either way i love this band from their first demo ep to their most recent release.

GHost Reveries was horrible compared to their early stuff.
Damnation was an amazing album, it took balls for them to pull it off; but they did so greatly... Not many bands can pull that off.

And that break in Black Roas Immortal... Orgasmic...

"Eyes attached to your mute portrait...
    We spoke only through thoughts...
    Together we awaited,
I was but thirst and the rising sun."

    omfg. So good.

(Speaking of Blackwater Park, its kinda how I thought up this name, because Blind was taken and ryan2006 is a gay alias.)

I've seen them twice.. the 1st time only 1/4 a crowd was there, second time... Sold out; neither show seemed "one uped" than the other. My shirt from that first show isn't even black anymore; its brown. :( (Wore it to every concert I went to after it... Up till 2 years ago.)
