My Laptop Had A Lot Of Pop Ups On Internet Explorer So I Switched To Firefox And There Were Not As Many Pop Ups But The Download Speed On Firefox Is Going About 40Kb A Second And My Internet Explorer Does 100+ A Second Is There Anyway I Could Make It Go Any Faster On Firefox Preferably The Same Speed As My Internet Explorer Any Help Will Be Appreciated
If you're on broadband this will help! 1.Type “about:config” into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries: network.http.pipelining & network.http.proxy.pipelining & network.http.pipelining.maxrequests Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading. 2. Alter the entries as follows: Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true” Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true” Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. 3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0″. This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives. If you’re using a broadband connection you’ll load pages MUCH faster now! Merged Post: Just done it myself and it works.
try clearing your private data. here Ctrl+Shift+Del and you can clear your cookies there and that might speed it up.
download and install Ccleaner (crap cleaner) this will clear all the temp file you don't need and also search your registry for bugs etc..
1) I Have Already Got CCleaner And It Hasn't Done Much So Far 2) How Do I Access My Windows Registry ? Please Help As That Will Probably Find Me Some Viruses
on ccleaner, go on to 'issues' than 'scan for issues'. You don't want to manually go through your registry, let me find the link to a good program. Merged Post: Download 'hijackthis'. When you get the log, post it here and i'll get some techies from another board to trawl through it!
