hi all . to start off , i have been a weapons modeler for about 4 years , working with various mods for games like farcry and ut2004 . i have researched weapons and have a fair amount of expertise since i have been on the net , i have been studying all sorts of objects , but i was given the weapons modeler position in many of the mods .

the movie "Dances With Wolves" is the focal point of this image , though my favorite handgun makes an appearance

    my render is here :

all comments / critiques are welcome , and i have worked through this model and materials , including reflections for quite a while .

    i use 3ds max version 8 .

there is a free version of 3ds max called Gmax , it offers basically the same ability but is simply limited to rendering , but for graphics and art its a great tool for free .

info and download link here : http://www.turbosquid.com/gmax

also "Discreet" , 3ds max's creators , offer a 30 day free trial of 3ds max version 9 , the best version to date .

    link here : http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index...3112&id=5972446

i highly recommend using Gmax or the trial along with http://www.3dbuzz.com , THE best tutorial and information site on how to use Gmax or 3ds max . just register for free and goto "Video Training" .
