brushes , as far as i can recall are the basis of all digital art . one would ask why is that ? because a brush is the only tool in ms paint that creates color . with that knowledge , photoshop has brushes , and the ability to create custom brushes . so now you can add color , highlights and shading all with the same predefined or user defined brushes . how can you be a noob for using the standard tools of any digital artist ? if you mean that theyre noobs because they havent learned more advanced functions , in my personal opinon youd look like a complete @sshole just for tryin to say it . downloaded brushes are different , they require less time and skill to obtain the brushes themselves , but using them in a new or interesting way is in no way wrong or noob-ish .
Yea it depends how you are using the brushes.Suppose your making a full out brush sigs with no smudging i'd consider it for noobies ,but if your mixing it with smudging and other techniques not really nooby to me IMO.
This is true here.. However, is using someone elses brushes to smudge. Is that noob ?!? At the end of the day you need a brush to smudge and it generally is not your unless it is the X brush
Uhm..I smudge using the default brushes, and an X brush I make on my own.. I dunno why you use other people's brushes to smudge..So yes, that does make you "noob".
Did you make those Spiderman and Venom images used in those signatures of yours? It's rather funny to say using someone else's brushes "isn't your own work" when almost everyone in graphics communities like these use artwork they didn't create. Like most people said simply using brushes isn't "n00bie" or "newbie". It depends on how they are used. The same could be said of everything. Just because someone uses smudging doesn't mean it's actually done well.
