Anyone have dial up? I'm going freaking insane.
It takes 5 minutes to load a page and if it doesn't load in 5 minutes it will say page cannot be displayed. It's pissing me off. I look for stuff to delete on my computer to kill time and stuff. It's making start twitching and ----... I don't like to wait.

Used dial-up briefly while switching between ISPs...I know exactly how you mean. It just can't provide the bandwidth you need nowadays...I'd say Broadband is a must :) My condolences if you're stuck with dial-up!

lol, I've been using it forever. It's actually the only thing I've used because we don't have much money. It's fast sometimes, but when everyone starts signing on it's hard to even do anything.

Most DSL companies are fairly cheap.

When I first moved out on my own I was making 5.75 an hour and still able to make rent, pay for gas/electric/etc, and still had money for DSL.

Depedning on where you live you may be able to find local DSL as cheap as 10.00/m.

If BellSouth reaches you, get BellSouth DSL.
    Show this to your parents.

It's 24.95/m, but that's very cheap for quick DSL. It's reliable and never went out for the 6 months I had it. I'd DL at speeds of up to 500kb/ps so it wasn't slow by any means.

If their Phone connection reaches you, so will their DSL lines.

Well I think that's what he got. He said something like they have to hook something up or something.

I just know it's extremely slow. I've never even seen dsl or cable before :)

    I couldn't stand using dial-up when I played D2LOD >_<
Now I'm sitting on broadband and I'm kinda wishing I had a higher speed broadband (like T1)
