Okay this should be the right place for this. People in the uk should know what this is and for those that dont Bascially this allows you to pause live tv normal tv forward it rewind it etc.It also lets you record programmes and what not. So who has sky plus and what do you think about it? any bad points good points? Also people all over the world do you have something like this to?
There is a French version of this, but I forget what it's called. There are pleanty of American versions, and pleanty of German versions too. They have all worked well for me. Most of my family lives in Manchester, and my cousin has Sky HD with the DVR. It's nice to visit and watch ball when I go home. edit- and the little reciever is awesome, it's like an xbox 360. haha.
The American one is TiVo I think. And yea i've had sky plus for a year or two now, I dunno how I could live without it. It's absolutely amazing. I forget how to use a VCR now..and shiver at the thought of watching a tape...
yeh its amazing like u can forward the stupid ads and i can watch prison break and record heroes lol wicked. It was expensive when it came out but we got a 2nd connection sorta thing and they installed it for free.
so dvr does the same thing? well we have normal sky we get the ugly box lol its normal and get all the channels but sku plus its a funker box and does all those thing. Does it cost more?
Well with DVR it's on the go - so you can pause the tele live, and then rewind to a certain point, or record the whole thing and rewatch it later. The box he has is like a gaint button in the centre and on the right a bunch of buttons then something on the left.
erm to use the functions of the record, stop, pause etc you have to pay an extra 10 pounds well worth it!
yeh but is tht a one of payment? i dont even knw mys sister pays it and i dont knw if we pay tht..But its worth it
i hope with Windows mediacenter you can do tat.... And in India there is TataSky... where you can do above mentioned as wel as you can change cameras want u want for live sports (Amazing ah..).....
i got someone whos staying at my house frm india.You cant record and pause etc on tht tatasky thing but u hve the box like we do, Oh yeh it is 10 a month not bad
america has had that for a while, there are multiple things that allow you to do it such as digital cable and so on and so forth
Yeah, I have digital cable and have DVR, it costs like $7/month or something like that, but it sucks.
