I couldn't help but notice that the ati x1950 card is pretty cheap in tigerdirect.
Is it as good as the 8800 geforce?

no, it isnt. the 8800's are the best cards on the market (RIGHT NOW). the 1950's are still less than 100$ cheaper then the 8800GTS (320mb version). and also the drop in price could be due to the fact that they are selling less and/or they are getting ready to release thier new series of cards (r600 i believe).

i know AMD just slashed thier prices on X2's again (AMD and ATI owned by the same people) so this could also be why they dropped prices.

EDIT: to answer the topic title, no its not a crappy card, its the best ATI card out right now (the x1950XTX that is)

    To be exact, it's ATI Radeon X1950 --- / 256MB GDDR3 / PCI Express.

well it will max out quite a few games...

it's not nearly as powerful as a 8800GTS, but guess what, the highend of last gen is always about half as fast as the highend of the next gen.

bang/$$$ the x1950pro and the x1900GT are great cards

for $125 you can't beat that, atleat not until midrange G80 and r600 cards are out.
