I agree with you, holy books have huge amounts of history in them.

I guess the point I was attempting to illustrate is that such verses could be interpreted to mean "We must kill the infidel", and I was trying to show that radical terrorists could/would use those verses as justification for their actions.

The way it came out was me saying "These verses from the Muslims' holy book say to kill Jews and Christians and non-Muslims". What I meant to say was that "Some Muslims use these verses from their holy book to try to justify killing Jews and Christians and non-Muslims"

I sincerely apologize for the way it came out before, I've been under a lot of stress from school and haven't been thinking clearly tonight -_- (It's starting to get better)

Iam actually glad that there are still some people like you who do realize their mistakes and apologize for them, thank you. :)
And you are completely true about terrorists that use these history verses to kill innocent people.

    1. Never, ever, ever, ever vote along party lines. Meaning don't vote for a Democrat/Republican JUST because they're of that party. That takes away the whole point of voting, that of forming your own opinion and voting for what your morals agree with. Otherwise you're just another drone.

Other than that, good points. Good to see someone that can disagree with someone/thing without screaming "OMG OMG OMG NOOB U LIEK BUSH U NAZI" and such.

Helpful hints for those who will register to vote in the future: register Independant; twice the fun, less junk mail, and you can agree with whatever you feel is right without being called a hypocrite if it disagrees with a party's views.

Actually, he's quite right. Groups like al-Qaeda use religious justification, regardless of whether it's proper Islam/other religion or not. Al-Qaeda does have a bit of a religious war going on currently; they openly state that they use religious justification for their attacks, making the issue religious and not political to the average viewer - most do not know much about al-Qaeda other than what they see on CNN at night. He's not being bigoted, he's stating pretty much the truth. It may have come out wrong to you, but to me it sounded just like what he was trying to say. No offense, but you were pretty quick to play Cry Havoc and Let Slip the Cries of Bigotry.

It's pretty much broken down like this to the average person:

    - Person watches CNN, sees that an al-Qaeda cell just popped a hundred or so people in a car bombing
    - Person has heard clips of al-Qaeda statements stating something about their god, religious justification, holy war, etc. etc.
    - Person plays connect-the-dots and assumes that the Muslim religion is a religion of terrorists

It's sad, but in today's rather uninformed society, it's true.

    Okies.

As per Bush's policy, those who commit terrorism and those who support those who do are effectively "on the list" for actions. Iraq just happened to pose a valid threat to us in Bush's eyes, so he went to Congress, they voted on it, and now we're in Iraq.

We've killed so many people for the sake of "Freedom", and we have it.

    Everyday you can still choose:

    -What you want to do.
    -What you want to say.
-How you want to conduct yourself.

Yeah there are consequences when you go to far, but it's better then being elsewhere.

You try doing or saying half the stuff you say in America else where, see how far you get.

You act like you deserve freedom when YOU do nothing for it. Your weren't there during the Red Scare, and hell neither was I, but I understand what it was about.

Hell the civil war... Lincoln didn't free all slaves in his address, he freed the SOUTHERN slaves, and not because slaves were already free in the north. He wanted more of an opposition to the south.

Freedom in this country and many others are warped.

It's a hate game, you do one thing for one person another person hates you, and it's a huge ass circle.

Mostly because Iran doesn't have the "record" that Iraq held (numerous UN Security Council resolutions broken, evidence of genocide, etc. etc.) and the fact that Iraq is already an unpopular war; Congressmen and women are politicians - they usually don't care about the issue itself, more of whatever it takes to get re-elected and stay in favor with their respective parties.

I just meant there will probably be more of a chance of me voting Democrat. Course Democrats are lying pieces of crap just like Republicans. Independents > Both of them.

Sometimes war is the only choice, Private. A lot of us do want peace since there isn't a World War III yet. Sometimes in order to protect ourselves we're going to have to actually FIGHT. ;)

i know there will be a WWIII but i dont know when exactly. Anyways it is true that religion contributes to attacks and wars but there are political reasons as well.

I dont think that war is right but sometimes you have to have war ie if someone attacks you you have self defense>war. THere might be freedom in lets say america but then the war that is happening in iraq is not helping america. I am not iraqi neither is my family but part of my family does live there and it is hell. My cousins cant go to school cuz its to dangerous and a few weeks ago half there hosue was blown up because of a bomb. I dont know how americans are helping or what they are exactly trying to do but its not helping anyone.

It would be better if america got out of iraq and focused on the things that need to be fixed in america. Southern parts are quite poor. SOrry for turning on america but thats the only modern example i could think about for war and stuff.

So war for freedom is good but you need a good reason other then, our god says kill these people. then if your fighting pointlessly, no benefits just deficits, it should be stopped because blood is being spilled.
