    Let's see here...

So he wants freedom and yet blasts an agreement that... promotes it? The whole "free trade" thing kind of means that trade is free, rather than regulated (i.e. Socialism).

Anyhow, what are the views on this guy here? Me, I'm just wondering why he keeps on blasting stuff that promotes freedom and promoting ideas that take that freedom away in the name of, you guessed it, freedom.

He's for freedom yet blasts anything that promotes it IF it's American on the basis that it is American. I've got a missionary friend down in Venezuela with NCIS who went to watch one of his speeches that was rather close to their (her apartment complex - most of the American NCIS people reside there). Apparently she's an imperialist because she's (and the rest of the "bastion of imperialism" that she happens to live in)... American and she's promoting imperialist ideas because she's... a teacher at an international school in Caracas.

Anyhow, views? Keep it civil, please.

You fool ferret. Free trade does not mean "freedom" and it defentiely isnt free. Your a college student correct? You should defetnitely know the real meaning of this term "free trade" Free Trade is one of the most horrific tools of capitalism, because it allows economically powerful countries to exploit other nations, strip them of their resources with no benefit for the developing nation, and also eradicates cultural diversity by imposing western values/culture onto the rest of the world. ill try and find some good resources in one word, no. this is what people protested against at seattle and cancun and washington , and anywhere else the wto or world bank have met to discuss how to ---- up the world even more. the zapatista movement, while already existing on a small scale beforehand, only really start revolting after mexico signed nafta [north atlandtic free trade agreement] because they saw that such an agreement would rape mexico of it's resources and worsen living standards for the inhabitants.

Fry, why do you think Chavez is crazy? Just because he supports socialism? Which is actually now proven itself as a very good and productive reform. Did you not see him and his supporters when by landslides in the Venzulean elections? You dont live in Venzulea, you dont see the benfits that his programs are reaping for the average person. If you were the son or a rich capitalist in Venezuela than I can understand your anger, but your not your a american.

I don't really like how he supported Iran's nuclear program and how he along with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (Iranian president) launched and anti-US fund.

If our country was free then there would be no laws, since laws restrict freedom. The result is anarchy, do you want an anarchy?

the only thing I don't get is,

if everyone is so equal, why do we have affirmative action?

EDIT: didn't read the topic, I thought it was referring to Ceasar Chavez, the civil rights leader.

    i am agreeing with Mac.

whats wrong with that. Iran to be able to have nuclear technology is no problem except that would have more energy.

whenever someone heres the word nuclear they always assume bomb. power and bombs come from nuclear energy are very different, sure they would have the know how if they were allowed but it is very different process of making a nuke compared to energy.

and Mac is right about free trade it sux its just a good excuse for economically advanced companies to rip of poorer ones. If you want the world to live as one there are only two ways it could be acheived socialism or communism take your pick.

So because people can't smoke in their car (because it might cause an accident), they aren't free?
