Just to give everyone out there a heads up.... My mother in law called me this afternoon to inform me that there is a recall on certain batches of Peter Pan brand peanut butter due to it being contaminated with salmonella. I would advise everyone to check the first 4 numbers of the serial number to make sure that you don't have one. It is causing severe sickness and in some cases death. My son was recently taken to the emergency room due to becoming violently ill and now we know why. Turns out we had purchased a jar that came from that batch. The first 4 numbers that you need to look for are 2111. DO NOT throw the jars away. I am awaiting word on what consumers are to do if they happened to purchase on of these jars and as soon as I hear, I will post and let everyone know. Merged Post:
Yup, he's fine. It was just similar to food poisoning. He's back at home... And he's 5, and tough as nails... was wanting a PB&J as soon as he got home... lol.
that really sucks man well at least if u want to pay $10 shipping u can send the lid back and get like a whole $3 back no wayy!!
Peter Pan makes penut butter now? What's this world coming to? I only eat skippys, the only butter of peanuts worth eating. 2111? That's my shield number backwards... coincidence? I think not...
i had 2 of them in my refrigerator...guess i'm immune lol, because we've had them for awhile...one was almost empty, and the other was half gone
