Well, before you say hell no, listen me out. I've noticed a lot of mods be given doantor status or even retired staff titles. So if I may, I would like to propose a trial mod section. -Users with atleast 75 reputation (no more then -5 reps) can apply. -Users with atleast 2,500 posts (give or take) can apply. -Users must send an admin a 250 credit fee for an application -Users must have 0% warning level -Users must write in complete sentences, we dont want mods that write like The thought of the above scares me. -If application is accepted (or denied), a moderator will send a PM/E-mail to the user explaining on what to do next -If picked, must send an extra 750 for trial mod powers If all of the requirements above are met, the user can start thier (3,5,7) day trial mod period. However, everytime you log on, you have to post up what your doing, where your doing it, and why. -For the log (journal), there will be a private forum for trial mods, moderators, admins and owners. Once your trial is over, the mods, admins and owners vote on whether you have what it takes to be a mod. If you get accepted, well, your in However, if all moderator/admin position places are taken, you are put on a list. If a position is availible, you will be contacted via PM, or e-mail. So uhh.. yea, thats my idea. Forgive me if it's been posted before. Edit: Added a new rule
Just because some has a lot of posts and reputation, it does not mean that he/she is fit for the job. //Edit: I do believe that it would be neat to give people who are sort of "in the shadows" a chance at moderating.
The application fee is 250 credits, then the mods have to approve you for the trial. Going to have to add that in there.
We dont need a trial lol even though i get what you mean It depends on the admins if they feel we need more moderators - Not anyone can be mod - From ur proposal i feel you can make everyone a trial mod and have them delete/ban/suspend/remove reps etc - No need The staff apps are considered through PMs once opened ... I feel this proposal wont work - And only the wise and respectable people get on who dont mess around and also has a decency towards staff/members And that rep comment - I had like 40 reps somewhere around there before i got picked on staff - Due to the fact that I was polite, not a crazy hectic looney, respects & alive in the IRC As i said all dpends on the admin ... The staff that have retired have a right of signifying their hard work & so also depends on the admins discression DarkStar
We can't have trial mods because it's not about you thinking you're good enough for the job, staff has to think you are good enough. If you do good deeds and help out around the forums, namely Render sections, Mods will notice. Applications like that can't work.
