It's pretty tedious for us to check each bid made. The seller could help just as much by refusing to accept whatever bid is made if the person doesn't have the credits, not everything requires us to enforce it. I'm all for a requirement in place like that, along with no private bids since we can't always tell whether they're legit or not.

    That's a good idea.
Sellers just have to put the starting bid = reserve price.

@ Axiom - Of course, I agree with that, hope you didn't misread what I said. The staff obviously cannot monitor every single topic in the auction room. I'm just saying that the member who creates the topic in the auction room should make sure that the member who bids on their auction has enough credits on hand at the time. If a member who bids on the auction and fails to bring foward the credits before the 7 day limit is up of the auction, than he/she (the person who created the auction) should PM a global moderator about this problem to give the member )who did not pay for the item he/she bidded on) a warning. Hopefully, a warning will prevent them from making the same mistake again. (This would replace the suggestion of creating a custom mod which could be costly to the site.)

@ Reap3r - Regarding what you just stated, many have argued that if a seller starts his/her reserve price as the starting bid, nobody will bid.. they might as well just make a topic in Offers/Requests than.

Overall, seems like everybody that has posted in this topic has agreed on one thing, which is that private bids should no longer be permitted on Gamerenders given that a majority of the times these private bids take place, they are fake.

Please have a site with over 150,000 members, half of them immature and unappreciative, and try not setting as many rules.

I bet your site won't last 3 months, better yet, 3 years?

Agreed, this is a good idea, also I personally think that everyone should appreciate the work put in by the staff, because without them, then this great place wouldn't be here right now. Also I think the fact people retract bids and have the right to not sell is bad, I closed one of my auctions once, that's only because there wasn't one bid in a weeks.

    Why nobody will bid ?
I see lot of auctions with guys starting bids at 200 credz and sometime later they bid 2K or more...
So i don't see where is the problem starting the bids at the reserve price.
Btw when they bid 200 they know that the seller will never let it go for that low amount so that's just a waste of time.

i don´t get the whole discussion
well do you think the person would sell it if it was lower ? if ther person started with 100 and the bid just came up to 600 ?
Next point , if someone rly wants to offer that amount of credits the person is going to do so . Like i did several times.
I also had this idea going through my head , cause it´s realy annoing to bid on something and then pple won´t sell it, cause the price is too low

@ Reap3r - It's just common sense though, I've taken part in many auctions, some of which where the start was very high and therefore, there were not many bids. When the person who created the auction lowered his/her prices, the bids started rolling in. (Obviously in the end, the final price was more than his original starting price, which appeared to be his BIN.)

    That's why you:

    1. Visit GameRenders daily.
    2. Have over 10,000 credits
    3. Have almost 3,000 posts
    4. Have 90+ rep.
    5. Spent $5 on a Prem. Membership

Yeah, you really do hate this place. Rebel!

While I agree with what you're saying, Master, let's not turn this thread into something it isn't.

Eccentric, it's been stated many times that our rules stem from the actions of our members. When someone abuses some aspect of the forum, whether it's the advertising in signatures or even the random money item a while back, we have to take steps to ensure that it won't happen again. Rules aren't meant to make your stay here a pain, they're meant to keep the site running. If you have such a problem with it, then you're free to leave. Nobody is twisting your arm to stay.

I'm really getting tired of hearing people do nothing but bitch and moan about us. If you have such a problem with the way we do things, PM us and suggest alternatives. Do something to help the problem, don't sit there talking crap when you haven't done a single thing to help.
