Guitar Tabs

I was wondering who all played guitar here and there thoughts on the whole tab controversy?

 

i think it shouldnt be bad, ive been playing guitar for 7 years now, and it doesnt hurt anyone to go out of your way to learn a song. whats the point in trying to learn a song if theres no tabs to help you out or you dont have the time?

 

Eh, I use them. I teach myself songs using them.

 

I <3 tabs If i ever need to learn a song or if i`m bored i`ll turn to them

 

i think people should learn how to read music first and learn the notes on the guitar before learning tab. i know its easy and convenient, but annoying.
ive been playing guitar for a long time now, and ive also been reading sheet music forever. And its a little frustrating when i try to teach someone how to play something and instead of saying "2nd string 3" i say C note and they dont understand.. o well

I like guitar, I use tabs, but I also know how to read sheet music..But if I really just wanna get lazy I use tabs. .
