SomeThingCreepy, the way I see it is this, you are guaranteed freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. The entire point of this topic is to force your own personal beliefs onto someone else, in a sense, you are being VERY hypocritical. you view secular-humanism as a religion in and of itself, your not nearly as independent of the influence of others as you think, secular humanism is preached on television. In short, you are worshiping the creation of the rich upper-class elite daily, you watch their shows, you participate in their culture and you and your family hand over their resources, their time and money, to participate in such. Let me iterate that a lack of a religion doesn't mean that you don't have your own beliefs and personal biases. Contrary to what you might see, you have a certai anti-christian bias in this. I can easily tell that your regarding the posession of a theology as foolishness and self deateating, irrational. You took offense to a lesson analyzing the cultural values of America over a hundred years ago. I find that rather ignorant, if you live in a society, you are expected to knowit's norms. Also contrary to popular belief, America is not a raging Christian society, less than 10% of the population regularly attends Christian services.
Messed up. If it was me in your position, I woulda went to the teacher and explained why every single person was resembled to someone else. And then I would prove all of her points wrong. And then maybe a little virus in a email But seriously, that is really messed up. She just insulted other races, gave lots of peopel F's, created a lot of enemies, insulted other religions, all in one class.
you realize that most teachers dont' generate their own work but rather use someone elses. also, everyone in america knows who satan is, and everyone knows who god and jesus are too. that's 4/5 a B, very easy you know.
Yes I do, but I also know that it is unfair to have set answers to those kind of questions. There are many ways to do this. Some people of other religions may not know what moses and satan have done in christianity.
then why the hell should i be responcible to know that Muhammad supposedly saw a vision of god, that the shiites and the sunnis deviate from each other primarily based upon who they should think should rule(relative of Muhammad vs. elected representative) that Bhudda sought enlightenment through meditation, what Confucianism is and hwo it deviates form taoism. get over it. It's their fault for not learning in other classes, i have to learn about their belief systems, so why can't they learn about the belief system which supposedly dominates the culture they live in?
If you have proof you can get her fired, and if she doesn't get fired than you can talk to your superintendent because they are giving the school funds and you failing a class due to your beliefs will cause your school to stop from receiving money from the government.
Well, again, I am almost positive this is where students are being over drammatic. Maybe the author of the story wrote it and modeled the characters after moses and such.
it's not failing a class because of your beliefs, it's failing one assignment because you also failed 6th grade social studies. just because you beleive in somethign doesn't mean you have to be ignorant of other's beliefs, that's called bigotry.
Besides, as I've said "Seperation of church and state." Does not excist. Only common practice, not a law of any kind. So she doesn't have to practice it, if it isn't a law.
also, not all 5 answers are based on the Christian belief system, 5 out of 5 are present in Judaism. and 5 out of 5 are also present in Islam. around 60-70% of the world claims to practice these 3 religions, there is something wrong with you if you don't know the fundamentals of them.
