    id go with ddr2 5400 (675)

    its cheaper then your 2x512mb sticks and at that price you can easily go to 2gbs in the future. also the DS3 has decent OC ability so you can just OC the ram to higher speeds.

    the mobo is good too, and make sure you use EVGA's stepup program when u upgrade your gfx card again.

    im like 98% sure that it will work. if anything it would run at 667 instead of 675 but like i said it will OC...

    the rated speed of the RAM is like the max it's guaranteed to run at, it can run lower.

    e4300 has a 9x multiplier and is rated to run on 200mhz FSB. the e6400 has a 8x mulkti and is rated for 266mhz FSB.

    higher multipliers allow for higher overclocks if that's your kind of thing.

    only down side is I've heard that the e4300s aren't OCing quite as well yet in terms of clocks/volt(it's a new chip design it only has 2mb l2 cache insteed of 4mb with half disabled) but I'm sure the kinks are being worked out.

    personally, I'd proibably get the e4300

    I'd go for the E'6400, and the Biostar P965. The Gigabyte isn't all that impressive, and I wouldn't go with the E4300 right now.

    I'd stick with the Gigabyte, but compared to them, I dont know ----. Also, whats the big thing about not getting PC26400?

    the 5400 is cheaper... and its a 1gb stick vs 2x512mb

    Unfortunately, until he gets another stick of RAM, he can't run duel-channel.

    going from 6400 (800mhz) to 5400(675), from personal experience, no it isnt that big of a performance drop, plus you have OC 5400 to 6400 easily...
